That ramp sucks. You're dropping into a small stream. The lot had no lines painted, and people parked everywhere. No room to turn around in there on a busy day.

In comparison, my local ramp has plenty of marked parking for trailers, and a ramp that is big enough for my 30' trailer to fit. They charge $4 for a day pass, and it includes a park + beach.

Your welcome to stay at your local ramp. Many of us think that ramp is cool!

Local ramp is really nice. It's the lake that blows.

I guess that's part of the fun of wave rave. I can see why the ramp is like it is. The township have less than 1000 residents. I think there are more than that in my subdivision. They can't afford to improve it, and may not see a need for it.

I'm still willing to go. The lake can be a lot of fun, and it's always good to get out and ride.

What's everyone doing for ski launching and trailer parking? I'm afraid that if I buzz up in the afternoon that I won't be able to park at the ramp. Are most people launching, then having someone drive a vehicle back to the campground?

soo just to be clear.. Can i launch at the creek and park in the campground even if im just staying for the day not camping? If not what do if the launch parking is full?
Thanks for the info!! Im a newbie this year at the wave rave

So I think the GF and I are heading out Friday after work, which should be around 7pm. Should we just hotel it along the way, or will we be able to get in to camp late in the evening? We plan to ride all day Saturday, and then head back Sunday afternoon. How are weather/wave reports looking? This will be my first foray into big waves. Should be a nice upgrade from the waves of North Dakota.

Call ahead and reserve a site. The office will be closed before you could get there Friday night. They claim to close the gate around 11 at night, so getting a hotel in GR or Muskegon may be the thing to do for Friday night.

Going to be there this year with turbo leaving on Friday and staying until Sunday afternoon. Missed it last year but was there the year before, had a blast chasing after huge boat wake.

With high temps of 70 I don't think the locals will be using the beach by the launch, so parking shouldn't be too bad. As the freeride grows it is getting tougher to park by the ramp. If you have extra people in the group it is ideal just to have them drop you in and drive the vehicle back to the campground.

It's confirmed... we'll be there. I'll have my 2000 SJ, along with a SN that isn't feeling so well. Hopefully some guys can help get it running or will want to buy it!

I'm not much of a planner, so I haven't nailed any details down. I think I'll call tomorrow to get a campsite, unless someone wants to share a corner of theirs.
