Other On average what do we spend a year on this industry?

I have had multiple people ask me that have seem my skis, or that have walked up to me at a free ride event and they always wondered how much money we have spent on this sport. Some ask if it was similar to what motocross racers spend. I really have never thought about the money I have spent. I was just looking for some feedback from you guys. On average what do you think we spend a year on this growing sport?

I spent a lot the year I built my Matrix but haven't really spent much since; other than oil and gas.

I couldn't justify building a new ski every year like so many are doing.

I added up what i have spent on my sxi pro one time and almost threw up lol. Its crazy to know I have more coin in my ski (that is very sub par compared to most on here) than I did in my 1996 300zx twin Turbo with 500hp, I used to run the crap out of it at the track and on "spirited" cruises, breaking stuff on a regular basis and still didnt come close to my ski's total.

I agree XJcrawler, delete this thread before our wives see it :)

I would love to see actual numbers from a handful of you guys, one maybe two new builds a year. I can't fathom having that much income to drop that coin on a hobby.

I'll bite my wife never reads this and who really cares. $7900 in repairs alone this year. that doesn't count travel or camping. What ever I do costs money. boat $20000, snowmobile $15000, jetski $10000, and trip to Havasu $3000 (if i'm lucky) . Empty nested Hate reno's so spend else where.

as i continue to chase my tail with this :):):):), every year the numbers rise. so far this year i'm at about 60k. and its not a hobby. a hobby is bowling or softball, this is the career.

Over the years i been progressively donating more of my income to jet skis..I can't keep track of how much I spend on misc but I had 14k into my 08 superjet and 10k into my rok. I'm not a big spender by comparison to some here, but this is the only hobby I found it difficult to spend money. Chasing engine builders, trying to order parts etc. Not really impressed. Service sucks and that's a fact. Still waiting for quotes from 2 "major" engine builders for a while now.. I think they forgot aboit me lol otherwise my numbers would be much larger.

Cheapest guy in the world here.

Countless hours of fun so far for pretty much the cost of gas and oil. And the cost of the skis.

I have stock skis tho. Very soon I wi be buying a am hull tho. But then I will still be keeping it mostly stock.
