don't know I lost count , at least I didn't have to spend any more money on it , one thing is for sure if nothing else I am doggedly tenacious when I want it a certain way

It took a minute but I finally have this paint figured out , it does not like high pressure, I ended up shooting it at between 40-50 PSI and got it to apply nicely , I played around with the pressure till I got it like I wanted it. I have sprayed the white before and got it to shoot on really nicely but I hadn't played around with the metallic paint fro Kirker before and it does shoot quite differently.

It likes to be shot wet on wet and with lots of coats of paint, as hot as it is now it is pretty damned hard to run this paint, I mixed it 4 to 1 and used 25% reducer and I got it to spray on really nicely, I still have to shoot the deflector tomorrow morning but the mirrors and bases are done and go on tomorrow. Deflector probably goes on late tomorrow afternoon. Pics later tomorrow.

Seems like every brand, even type, of paint wants a bit different pressure. That Pettit white that I shot only wanted around 35psi. The PPG I put on my wife's Superjet was shot at around 50psi. I like to have a piece of cardboard handy against a wall for sprayout and pattern testing every time I paint.

Yeah I know I am a day late and a dollar short but none of that matters , it's been scuffed , buffed and polished to within an inch of it's life , so here at long last is the final result.

Sorry for the pic but it's hard to take pics of something this shiny because it picks up reflections of everything around it , it really did turn out nice, long live BURPLE.

Just wanted to bring a happy ending to this one, yesterday the GTI sold for $2300 , the Lesbian couple that now own the ski said if it had been painted with color shift they would has passed on it, they loved the purple and they loved the ski. everyone is happy and on to next one we go.
