l found this small aluminum piece in my hull yesterday and cannot figure out where it came from.l installed all the parts in this ski and feel comfortable it didn't come from anything l installed or something it fell off of.

So can anyone figure it out what it is?

The size and general shape reminds me of the welded in plugs on seadoo exhaust pipes. They can pop off if water freezes in the pipe. It's a long shot, and no idea why it would be in your hull.

Thats a quarter. Lol finders keepers. I agree it really looks like a weld in freeze plug from a seadoo. Which ski did u find that in??

Im sorry but when someone mentions freeze plugs it makes me cringe. Theres no such thing as freeze plugs even if autozone sells them under that listing for your 350 small block. They are casting plugs. Sorry again! Im out before the beatings start!

Your not alone, your just from the south. :) You are probably equally confused by the concepts of block heaters, cab heaters and battery blankets, lol.

These just hit the market around the time I moved South of the border;

Battery blankets, aww that sounds comfy! Them northern folks have all the fancy dodads.

Just trying to understand where this piece came from on the coupler? Can someone help me out with a visual? And why would not having the washer cause this? Just trying to learn for future problems.

Its the center of the coupler. The coupler bottoms out on the washer but without the washer the midshaft bottoms out inside the coupler and as its screwed tighter it pops out the center. If ur driveshaft orings leak i would think water can get in ur hull.

Also bilge water can get to splines through the hole and wash out grease over time and destroy splines.
