I see your point but I just think you guys take it too far .As long as your not rude about it I see no harm in haggling the price in public .

I don't know which one of you removed Steve at WCF post dump on my lamey cyl thread but I really had no problem with him saying my cylinder wasn't that good of a deal because I know it is a good deal .

The example DJ gave is being rude and honestly I can't recall ever seeing a post like that on someones for sale thread but saying someones price is too high is not rude .
The bottom line is this ,if it's a real good deal it will sell no matter what anyone says and if it's not it won't.

I think that was Darin. I got myself one of the same thing you have in your sig:sad2:

I say keep the rule. There are way too many people that flood people's for sale posts when really its none of their business. The post should be between the seller, and the buyer. Not the seller, buyer, and some dude that is not really interested but wants to gripe about the price.

If someone is selling an item for more then the retail price, doesn't mean you need say anything about it.

There's probably someone in a foreign county with a different exchange rate that thinks the price might be fair.

You were making completely unreasonable offers to the guy.
Like, retardedly low.

Matt, it's a matter of opinion.

1. I offered him the ongoing price in our region within minutes after his for sale post (without even asking for more details or pictures, his claims were shady, but I've let that go).
2. The offer I made was also the high Blue Book retail.
3. I was not able to PM the new kid who just had one post on this board.
4. The response (his second post on this board, still not able to PM by the rules) was along the lines "HAHA, you are kidding me, I have this thing posted on craigslist for a year and a half and I get calls every day".

Oh, and i stated twice that I was done with that whole topic, but some of you still asked why I was being a dick to the new kid and so on.

Then came big builders like Tom, who said that although he agrees with most of my points, I am still wrong.

I think the thing is still in the for sale section, have no desire to look it up.
If the kid is such an idiot (hey Dave Ramsey :fingersx:) to still owe $4800 on a 2004 Octane... yeah right...

Make your conclusions. But I was the one who got the infraction.

Keep it.

If individuals ARE for dumping for whatever reason (for example, belief in absolute freedom of speech), let them add a line to THEIR post along the lines of "Dumping allowed - I appreciate all comment (positive or not)".

This way the majority can advertise safe in the knowledge comments will be limited to offers and statement of facts (i.e. model compatability, model year or whatever), though it would still be polite to do this by PM.

Those who welcome dumping can deal with posts as they see fit.

This way the two camps both get what they want. Fair 'nuff?

Just because you can justify to yourself that the price is actually over priced. Or that you feel the price is to much for the quality of the ski/item. It is still not cool to come in and slam, bash, flame, etc etc the seller. It is still rude and still called "Post Dumping".

If you put up an ad to sell puppies from one of your litters, and people came in and started saying, "Way too much, those are not worth that much" or "Spay and Neuter your dog"....... 1. you would not like it. 2. They would get the infraction also.
