Power Factor Dry Pipe questions

I did know that you had to run 112 octane fuel but I didnt know about needing a msd TL system. This would be a total custom setup but I found a guy that would be willing to custom make a manifold for me. You would probely laugh if you herd what motor I am trying to build.
I suggested Race gas and MSD TL to anyone that going to TRY this pipe for the first time, This is a safety margin so you don't get discouraged running this pipe for the first time.
If you miss the setup just a little, you'll burn the tops of the piston in about 10-15 minutes.

jetski9010 didn't even say what engine setup he even has!
So I gave him SOLID advice to make serious horsepower using this pipe...

btw, I do NOT run race gas - :):):):):) that. Bad enough I have $20k into this 'ski, I don't want it to cost a fortune in gas just to ride the damn thing. I am just an average Joe like most everyone here. I ride 3 to 4 days a week and have a mortgage payment to!

I am running 94 Octane, very few WOT runs and my timing/compression is setup accordingly by the man Supertune/Chuck himself

When I have TOTAL control of the entire engine build, I can setup these pipes to run pump *93 oct fuel with freestyle/freeride in mind.

These PFP pipe were developed for BIG POWER and you do not make big reliable power using stock Yamaha ignition (analog) even with a TBM aluminum flywheel and a MSD Enhancer cdi.
Will work just not big power off the bottom to overcome a 'B' pipe system. Most guy's that rode any of our (Patrick Bogart's) 1000's when we ran our water injected 'B' pipe setups couldn't believe it.

I am building a motor out of a tigershark 770R motor. I am planing on big boring it and stroking it to give me 882. I am still figuring out the port layout I want and will get some sleeves made by northwest. There is no pipe out for this motor so I was going to have a guy build me a B pipe manifold so I could run a B pipe but no I am thinking about this power factor pipe. Its going to be a freestyle motor setup and I would like to set compression up around 190-200 and run on 105 octane with dual 49 full specs. I havent put to much thought into the electical portion yet but I figured I will give JSS a call when the time comes and have them help me out with the details.

i have to keep under 800cc to compete in am in the u.k ive seen the ss845 looks awesome and id consider one later on
do you think the pipe would go well with the setup i wrote above?

Then you need the 8mm stroker package for under 800cc class...
We won the World Finals with this engine last year...Just with a bigger bore in the 900cc class with the PFP dry pipe.

I think what showtimestock was asking was "will it work well with stock stroke dasa powervalve cylinder

I think riverrat used the same pipe set up with his stock stroke lamey and it performed great! You may want to ask him directly

im looking at a stock stroke dasa powervalve cylinder i already have 48mm dual carbs and msd ignition would the powerfactor pipe work well with this?

Steve,
I read his question..."I'm looking at a stock stroke dasa powervalve cylinder".
He didn't say I already have a dasa cylinder and will this pipe work...
I was giving him SOLID advice about building a competition engine that does work!
I know as WE here at X Scream have many championship titles.
Mind if I debate here...
Can you give him some more solid information regarding this exact setup besides, "I THINK Riverrat used the same setup (older cast cylinder/not available new) and then said to ask him directly".
If you go back and read his posting he did say it made some HP in the mid and top but it suffered bottom end hit, don't you think that would be critical for a freestyle competition setup?

Chuck, please reread what ***I*** posted about Hunter's setup---I said the impeller pitch needed to be dropped but it ripped anyway. He was still running the same pump setup as with his B pipe. You have no idea how it ran other than my comment.

I would love to give him some "solid" information about this pipe but I do not have any experience with it...that is why I and many others on this thread are asking questions regarding the proper set up for this pipe. I have been trying to contact the fabricator of the pipe, mark baxter so he could chime in with some un-bias opinion.

i dont really want to run a stroker crank it gets expensive like that so adding a pfp to a billet stock stroke dasa pv would work ok then??

Why would it not work? that's a great reliable set up right there!

I got an e-mail from mark yesterday and he went over on how to properly set up the pipe for maximum gains and reliability. The set up is very important to maximize the pipe's potential.

whats the point?

by the time you get done you will have spent close (if not more) than what it would cost to have chuck build you a proven package with 100% reliability

Agreed.

It is fun to tinker and be creative, but I just want to ride and have something crazy powerful and reliable - after years of of blowing stuff up "learning" and trying to be creative, I had it. It is not and never will be a money maker, so why keep investing?

I'll pay for the proven stuff and knowledge.

You may want to consider just building an adapter plate out of Aluminum like the Octanes have to run a Yamaha Pipe.

well, per Mark's request...I can't, but what I can say is that with the proper set up, you can run pump gas but no WOT runs!

Just my opinion, but I'd think he would want to share that info so people aren't scared to run his pipe with 'the secret info'.
