Na, many other things to poke you in the eye, bust a leg or arm......last time out I found you can still slide it similar to the 08 but gives that traction for doing down the wave cutbacks without sliding, much improved confidence wave surfing knowing what its going to do when it counts.

You might want to try a big scoop grate... I was never able to make my SJ or stunt hull slide with a big scoop but when going to a stock grate or other open style, it will slide out much easier.

Have that one already, it helps, much better than the open style.

I did that on my B-1 a couple years ago , Mine were just a little longer but the same depth , my ski totally lost its agility, so off they went ! anyways Im thinking they are way too tall at the moment any you will probly be fine with 2/3 shaved off of them .... just take your hacksaw with you when you ride and adjust as needed !

Don't like it, tried that one. The Quadrafin is nice but a bit to nose down for surf unless you really keep your weight to the rear. This particular D cut plate was an old dominator plate, like the ride but again just a bit too loose for my new surf style of riding.

Worked as planned, I didn't ride my normal 100% but just took it easy for the most part. That being the case I still found they did as planned, still able to toss the rear out when needed but definatly takes a lot more effort than a stock plate, and cutbacks are now solid with no unpredictable sliding. Got one more trick planned but won't have it done for a while and it goes on the other end of the ski.

What are you racing?

I thought most people preferred the pre 08 ski's because of the rear slide out in the surf.

What's next hydrofoil bolt-on sponsons?

Lol, no wave surfing, most here are either rolling or slashing and flipping. I'm not saying its for everyone but with the limitations I have now, and not switching to the 08 and later hull this is my closest option at this point. I kind of got the idea after reading a post Ross wrote about his experience after switching to the newer style hull, he enjoyed the extra hookup it provided.

I rode a pre 08 rn hull the other day after only riding the 08 for 8 months. I hated the old style hull, way to loose. I'm sure being rusty from not being on the water for a little contributed to that feeling. I guess its just what you get used too.

That's a great idea, I'm totally with you on the improved hook up on the bottom turn, sliding out and getting nailed buy the lip is not fun when is heavy conditions . In a couple minutes you can change the ride with different fins and ride plate angle, I love it .
