Awesome ski, bet it will be well worth the wait. I thought you got it with the wings on the bondline removed?

He left them on b/c once it was painted he thought I might like them................to be honest they are growing on me a little. Once you sit on the hood and feel how well you can controle the boat it makes them temping to keep on. We will see soon enough :purr:

I have to admit that in GA I was peeved about the whole situtation: having it sent down there instead of to my house, strapping it to the roof of my car for 7.5 hours, not having the wings trimmed, not having the pole complete ect...........but through all that :bs2: I still feel I made the right decision to go with WDK. I just got done looking over the boat throughly and am impressed with what the ski is. I was a little concerned about it being thin in a few spots but when you analize where it is thin you begin to realize that it is intentional. I will discuss it more indepth tomorrow and post pics of the X-jet next to a SJ for a side by side comparison.

Lowered SJ next to the X-Jet

This gives a general idea of the lower profile of the X-jet. The pole pivot piont is about 1in+ lower than this 24/7 ski. The hood is much lower as well but the SJ has the older 24/7 hood design.

I will post pics of the handlepole soon as well. It has been completly redesigned from the ground up, different skin and all. It is slightly lighter than the 10.5 lbs of the previous production run

brainwashed. youd have to be crazy to wait that long for a hull from that guy

I am the type of person that is willing to try new things and work with the builder to get something right. I plan to test out this hull, put it through its paces and contribute my .02 to Jeff so he can make things better. He is willing to listen to feedback which is why the handholds were redesigned. Every problem that I have had we have already worked them out. Over all I am still having a positive experience but I tend to be an optomist.......but how could you not, this thing is such a superior design(bold statement I know) to the SJ.

Just for the record he is not making me pay for shipping or crating to GA, b/c 1) I did not specify it to go to that location 2) I could not transport the crate for additional use and 3) It proved to be a big inconvenience to my weekend. That was his doing and he did not charge me for that.

How much does it weigh? You might as well try it with the wings on. Cover them with turf and they aren't as noticeable.

The wings are growing on me. I may glass them on and hold off on turfing the rails until I test them out. If I like riding with them will turf the rails, if not I will cut them off and then turf the rails. I will get a weight tomorrow

I weighed the hull today. Looks like 99lbs complete. That is w/ a wetlaid hood that weighs about 14lbs, bracket, midshaft and ride plate attached. So the hull itself is about 75lbs.

I do think his stuff is nice, and different. I just cant imagine waiting and all that BS 99% of his customers go through, thats all.
