Put the tank in a buddy's roundnose hull to see how it fits...........Perfect. Even uses OEM straps. On the X-jet i will not have the battery mounted in the OEM location, so I will bolt a strap hook in that location instead. Keeps the weight in the center of the hull and keeps it low. I don't think I have ever been so pleased with a $50 Mod.

If you want to mount the batter infront I would look into the XFT set up. the 44's have a pump on them so you do not need a external pump. That is just something I had to switch to when I installed the 48 mm carbs.

do you have to run an external on dual 48's? i just modded my stock tank with internal fuel filler to have dual pickups for my soon to have dual 48's. i fugured that was the best way to run them. i do have a new external pump if it is a better way to run those carbs, i'll just have to get the block off plates. Let me know which way is best, thanks.

I have heard that the stock pumps can flow more than enough fuel, but the Riva's, Full Specs ect come already blocked off so I just bought the external pump for $30

You won't get it by MArch 2007, for sure.

I would be so pissed if it takes forever. :haha: Luckily it is not all custom stuff like the FX-pro you have ordered. I talked to him yesterday and he said yours was going to ship this week.

The motor gives it a little better perspective. The couplers are different so that is as far back as I can position the motor right now, it achually sits anouther inch back.

man pulling the flywheel is a quick job with that for sure. have you tryed turning the tanks different ways to see if it can go forward even more. i like it, not as much as the xft one...but for what you got into it, its pretty sweet.

To go forwad more you would have to grind down the fitting in the hull to mount that front strap hook, but you ahve to do that on the XFT set up as well. You could achually put some hooks on the flywheel cover or something like that and get the tank as far forward as you want. before it hits the motor. I am not very concerned with that though. The nose of this ski will be so light having it where it is might prove benificial for overall balence. I wish I had a program where I could enter all the weights of parts and see the overall weight distribution of the boat. I am just kind of doing it on paper right now.

interesting, i know on your WD hull it won't mattetr but it looks like a stock battery tray in a stock ski might not fit in between the motor and tank. whats it look like 90 counterclock wise in the hull? is that tank skinnier that way? i'd like that tank if i can make the battery fit like the xft one does.

No, the tank is achually wider that way and hits both the battery tray and that fitting to attach a strap. Looks goofy that way also. The flywheel cover is only about 3in away in it's current position. I achually like this tank more than the XFT. It is shorter in height and wider at the base yet holds the same amt of fuel, if not more. The XFt tank had a thick foam pad under it that would position the tank more vertical so teh battery tray would mount up to it. This one sits right into place. If the pickup and return were where the cap is now the lines could be routed more cleanly, but I could not find one with the fittings on the opposite side like the XFT/lenzi tanks.
