I'm calling this an assembly, because its been built already. so, I purchased myself a hull here recently. Decided a Gen2 BOB was the direction I was headed. I've only ridden freaks (a few carbon race ski's, but not relevant) so I have no clue what im getting myself into as far as this hull goes. but other than aesthetics, never heard any real (what i mean is serious) complaints about the bob hull. I've purchased a few parts with the ski clinic and again, no problems. I don't have the luxury of riding any other skis really, and only know a few people personally in this sport. I liked my friends freaks, not my personal price ranges. So, i cruise on down to Florida to get this thing. Transaction goes great, no complaints. I receive some extra carbon and epoxy with the deal to reinforce. The previous owner said he was going to try it in the surf so he was going to reinforce it, but never did. so we're talking about the ski and i keep looking, feeling, eye bangin it with my eyes and (i think) realize this thing is the competition layup. It's THIN. This ski is intended for flatwater only as i have a ski designated for surf. So, i paced back and forth for a week deciding on whether or not to reinforce it. I decided it wasnt worth it to break the thing in half and lose my investment. So the bottom of the engine bay got 2 layers of TRIaxial (<yeah thats="" right)="" carbon="" plus="" a="" layer="" of="" 6oz="" (what="" i="" got="" from="" the="" previous="" owner).="" side="" walls="" 2="" layers="" 6oz.="" it="" seemed="" to="" help="" ton.="" (when="" you="" see="" pictures,="" keep="" in="" mind="" that="" i'm="" no="" pro="" at="" laying="" carbon.="" it's="" not="" pretty).="" also="" ripped="" all="" stickers="" off="" (no="" offense,="" they're="" hideous)="" and="" have="" county="" inspection="" tomorrow="" for="" homebuilt="" title.="" ski="" assembled="" minus="" motor.="" plan="" on="" trying="" find="" scale="" give="" some="" weights="" guys="" are="" interested.="" owner="" said="" (without="" reinforcement)="" hull, turf, pods, pump="" shoe="" seal="" were="" 64-65lbs.="" so="" im="" guessiong="" around="" 73-74="" with="" pole="" hood.="" hood="" is="" crazy="" light.="" enough="" bs="" heres="" parts="" list
<yeah thats right) and 2 layers of 6oz on the sides. it helped a TON. so I feel pretty good about the hull now.
