yup, 6 days off at XMas to put it all together
still gather the last of the parts
PUMPED for spring!

Motoman, did you have to mess with the carbs at all after you installed this? I have your recommended jets in and my carbs are at OEM specs.

Also, should I mess with the screw ontop of the headpipe? It's closed all the way right now

if anyone has another one of these protec pipes laying around they want to off I would like one for my creek boat.
They are good pipes for a CHEAP PRICE.

I have the same pipe on my 650. I got it like this with the aftermarket head so i can't say how much power it adds. I run head to head with my friends 650sx. My SJ is fast compared to my 550sx, but I'm disappointed lol. What kind of FCV should i get?

i run that exact pipe on my 61x/61x blaster with a protec intake mani and dual 38's off my superjet.

used my factory pipe jetting since it was already in the carbs and just knocked the popoff down to 17psi since i am running open flame arrestors now.

using dual 38's from stock 62t superjet:

75 pilot
135 main
80 gram spring
stock needle and seat.

EDIT: you will definitely want a flow control valve with that pipe. i ran without it for awhile and noticed a big difference once i dried out the stinger a bit.
Dragging up an old thread. I had this pipe lying around for years and finally putting it to use but I cant get the hose to fit from the chamber to the water box. The chamber is to low. What hose did you use?

i think i heard the chamber that is from a sitdown bends the same way but sits lower than the sj one. not sure if thats right but i think i remember hearing or reading that. also the bolt pattern and opening from certain headpipes dont match up to stock 701 manifold. i know that for a fact. (think it came from a 650 lx)

great little pipe though imo and like bruce said dont even need to run the two mounts. they stay put real well with just the hose clamps

That blaster just came around again recently and my buddy worked on it. That pipe was still right where I left it with no issues.

I'm sure with a few small metal elbows and a couch hose you could make something work to the oem position box
