Can anyone recommend a good popoff setting for silver dual 44's on a magoo ported 701 w/bpipe and stock arrestors? My harddrive crashed and apparently my last backup did not have those notes saved...

I am running 120 P 105 M 80 gram spring with 15 pop 2.3 N/S on the same set up. Make sure you fill your cross over it was night and day.

Mark, are you running the same setup as me? I was told to run stuffers and was given all the tuning advice I needed but just never ordered my new n/s's and springs. I'm on an r&d manifold w/o crossovers, fwiw...

Magoo ported 701 duel 44’s limited b pipe. I screwed with carb tuning for months and to find out after I pulled the stuffers it was tuned in two rides Wax found the problem. There was a great thread called duel 44 observations if you want to read all about it. I also had a jetting suggestion but it varied a lot.

I am running a Riva Mnfld w/ 44's on a ported 760 w/ 2.3 n/s & 80g spring (17 p/o) , 110p & 120 main & its lean in cool water but good in med to warm water. Not sure if this helps but there U go for what its worth anyway.
Just need another set of Full Specs.. Once you run them its hard to be happy with anything else:baby:

Thanks again guys. Mark, yes I've seen that long "observations" thread. I was just hoping for some quick advice so I can order what I need and play with it next time I'm down at the house :fing02:

^^ And that really is the key.
Jetting suggestions from other folks are good starting points, but to find the best for your setup, you really need to spend some time and try different things.

Disclaimer: Unless you run Full Spectrums. In that case, just run whatever Ed tells ya to run. :haha:

Oem 44's Suck! Just get some aftermarket 46'mm's mikuni's, leave them stock for now with just a jetting job and you can always upgrade them later if you keep them in good shape. Oem carbs don't have the internal fuel delivery passages needed for flow that the aftermarkets have and have the wrong cutaway throttle valve! Oem's were made for the STOCK 760 in a GP yamaha runabout or Blaster II and not for a superjet engine. Keep in mind that Yamaha needed fuel economy with their dual 44's, we need power!

They dont suck.. Maybe compared to full spectrums or Team scream prepped 46's or whatever, but they dont suck that bad especially for what you can pick them up for.

If your on a budget they are fine. Mine were simple to tune and was done dialing them in in about a 1/2 hour.
