So that the people on the water(REAL boaters) that have the clout and power don't succeed in having you(and me) thrown off the lake.:lightning:
Well said

Stock squrenose is heavy fiberglass. But I think the fiberglass makes it even more quiet than an OEM RN box.

With all this said, the X metal was not 'that bad' w/my LPW701 but w/my Lamey stroker is un-bearable. I had a friend ride my ski last week while I stood on the bank and I could hear my ski 4 MILES AWAY!!! Another side note, w/a TNT chamber it sounds good and not too loud, w/a normal B or B mod-it's LOUD!!!

I got introuble this last weekend too. my 5 mil is like most 8mils i have riden and its nasty loud. so i am trying some things. I was told the best thing to do is to tap the out going part of the xmetal box and put water right before the tee...

I dont want to get people mad and turn people off to standups...

go ahead BK have a field day with that...

and yes when your in the bay or out on the ocean, its not a big deal and really alot quiter than the ciggarette boats.

But some dont like the noise by the ramps and homes on the way in our out from bay or ocean...

thats right I caught some consideration somewheres.

But man... I love that Xmetal deep Rumble... just need to muffle it a little.

honestly, unless you are doing flat water freestyle, I dont feel there is a need for front exhaust. Only reason I have it now is because it was on my hull that I am running now...

I feel it definatly does help in the surf.....trying to power yourself up, or during a tailstand recovery.....just allows the motor to run a bit smoother/cleaner

but, since I did away with mine I dont really miss it.....

how about vs. a square?

Ive got a square box in my REV right now and am trying to lighten up the front end a bit...

Square box vs a round? Easily 2-3-4- hell who knows how many lbs.... the square box feels like a cinder block in comparison to a stock rn box. I have both in my garage.

I am not saying that there is not some benefit to it....... It does help at times....... like I said, I ran for years without one...........

yup..same as a JW valve

the one aspect I always noticed about front exhaust...

you could put the boat into a tailtand and just let it idle....ive never been able to do that with ANY rear exhaust only..

oops,i thought you were talking about the jw valve
