So uh, a perfectly tuned engine won't benefit from a dryer waterbox? Only a less that perfectly tuned motor would eh.... interesting

hmmmmmm, a Flow Control valve when used properly is just another piece of a puzzle, does it make a huge difference?? Not really, but when added with other tidbits it can make your total package run better.

I have been doing quite a bit of testing the last few weeks, and would have to say the Flow control valve is a very essential item for flatwater Freestyle. My ski is tuned to perfection by Kevin Collins and Myself, and hits very hard for a Ported 82.5mm motor. There is a pretty substantual difference when hitting my setup wake with and without the flow control. For flatwater it is a must IMO! The hit out of the hole with a wet box just isnt the same.

As I said though, taking the flow control valve out for surf was a excellent way to detune the aggressive hit for surf riding. :fing02:

My motor specs are as follows.

82.5mm bore Leg Drag ported cylinder.
Ported cases by Leg Drag.
Dual Riva 44 carbs, on riva intake, aftermarket reeds and Cages.
Msd enhancer.
ADA head
Lightnend 61x flywheel

pump
12-17 c 75 big hub and TBM pump cone with stubby.
85mm bored nozzle

Basic setup that rips hard!

Fill the waterbox with mashed potatoes and run a 1/2" line to it directly from the pump. You will have a stealthy ski with creamy smooth power delivery.

the FCVs make a huge difference on the bottom end on all our skis. the difference is comparable to adding a b pipe. of course, w/o the b pipe, the FCV would probably be unnoticable.

I did it!!!! It is now bearable. I installed a stk waterbox w/a T for my frt and rear exhaust and my FCV. LOL

Cracker, Can you post a sound clip of our ski if you have a chance? I'd like to hear the impact your changes made. I'm on the verge of swapping out my xmetal for an OEM aswell.

Just ride
I still have the x-metal box and i took out the front exhaust and it is definetly quieter. i ride in the bay mostly and im not getting dirty looks and complaints like i did last year. it is definetly a help in the no wake zones because the exhaust is underwater. i really didnt notice a difference with not having the front exhaust i mean tail stand and recoveries are the same it doesnt really cavitate and if it does its not enough to make a difference.

how many people have a water line running to the front exhaust T. How much does this alone help?
