Another reason I'm ditching the total loss. Does not belong on a demo boat!

An improperly set up total loss doesn't belong on a demo boat. In four seasons of running mine, I've never had saltwater trouble with it.
And that could be said about any component, but tl is just a little bit trickier to set up right.

Well after riding an 850 with a dry pipe, full specs and a charging system that hit 3 times harder than my 863, I'm convinced I don't need total loss! I'm puttin my $$ into a good set of carbs.

Thats Patch Motors for ya, ask anyone. Pat is so the man for getting the final few hp out of a motor and still keeping it reliable

I have a feeling your motor might be the fundamental problem. I don't think you'll get what you're looking for with other carbs on the same setup.
That 850 you stepped on was likely very well set up and tuned, from carbs all the way to the pump. Now imagine what that motor would do with TL.
Sorry for going on and on, but I like big power and tl is an essential ingredient

Oh I agree 100% but for my riding level I think for now this is the best option. Oh and that was a solas 144 and I have a MAXX 148. I'm putting my faith in what I was told by the person that tuned that 850 setup.

He had a TL on there with the 850. Hit harder but not as reliable. Give us some more time to play with them and we will get them figured out properly. Pauls on his 1105 is pretty good now
