Rash Guard or T shirt?

How many of you guys/girls wear a rash guard or T shirt under your life jacket? Its been in the 90s up here. I am on holidays and I spent the last four days at the lake. The water is more than warm enough not to wear a wet suit. So after four days at the lake my arms and chest around the arm holes has been rubbed raw. I also wear a anti chafe live jacket. I'm on day one of two at home, then back to the lake for 4 or 5 more days. The temp is to stay in the 90s, So I need something to help out so I can keep riding. What does everyone else do or recommend?

I wear one of the cheap sun shirts from Costco to avoid the chafing. I wear the long sleeve version to avoid the sunburn.

Not only does a rash guard protect you from chaffing, but can block/ reflect some of that energy robbing uvb light!

I wear a breathable mx jersey. If only wear my rash guard if i am wearing a wet suit or days in a row.

I always wear underwear shorts made out of the same material as a rash guard under my board shorts. Found in any athletic store that has wicking fabrics kn their athletuc department.

Ya, I have a long sleeve Fox rash guard that is SPF 50 that I like a lot except its black/white striped and I look like I just escaped from prison...lol

When i wear it I always have to do the "O Brother where are art thou'" flatwater hoe down dance...haha

I've never had a chafing issue with just a pfd in fresh water. In salt, I'll wear a compression shirt. I always wear compression shorts under my board shorts though, regardless of fresh or salt, and I go commando in wet suit season. TMI????

Have you tried a mx jersey? Keeps sun off you, no slimy sun screen necesarry under. Keeps you wet which cools better when moving. Easy to take off if you stop for a long while. Mine is not one of the heavier ones with elbow padding and whatnot. I have a very light model with holes smaller than a ball point) in the fabric.
