I need help from someone with a superjet thats taken apart. I need a measurement, how far does the driveshaft stick out from the bulkhead with the mid shaft housing un bolted? Better yet, that same measurement with no pump seal, just the pump square against the shoe.

Thanks

I installed the pump in it's place first. Mounted the midshaft to the bulkhead or whatever it attaches to. Then slid the midshaft and bulkhead in place until it bottomed out. Then slid it back about 1/8"-1/4" and marked the location. Shim the bulkhead up if required for height.

Im just leaving work now. I had to put the correct front bearing in my pump so the shaft length was right for mockup. (I really need to buy a press) I also built 2 midshaft assemblies. Heading back to start fitting pump and shoe so I can get started on the bulkhead and cooling lines.

We ordered 40 yards of biax, built one entire hull and one bottom deck without enough to spare for another top. This time we ordered a roll of 17oz biax by weight, about 70 yds.

Quick update before bed. Another 12 plus hour day out here. The motor mount plates tacked up enough to pull vacuum on them with a few layers of glass for secondary bonding. They are not going anywhere!ImageUploadedByTapatalk1341632488.072129.jpg

Looking good man. It's amazing how much time you put in and how little progress you make once you actually pull the hulls out of the mold isn't it? Such simple tasks take WAY longer than you anticipate.

good work. wow factor watching the time line on the posts. your 12 hour days must be crazy busy. keep up the good work. waiting for the videos and ride pics posted.

We both took vacation the second half of this week with this in mind, so after this things will slow down for us. But this was also help us figure out everything needed and get it down to a science. I think a lot of this time can be cut down if we get all of the small stuff out of the way, stock up so it's there come build time. This time around we had to make everything on the fly, motor mount plates, stainless nut inserts for all the driveline parts etc. If we bulk on those items and have them ready this will go much smoother. And we can spend more time in the air conditioned part of the shop!

Yes this is a glass hull!! Should have a great end weight if we keep on track here.

And its a thick glass hull. Bottom deck is 5mm thick at its minimum, with extra in some spots with beaching wear and landing impact in mind.
