he comes here about once a year or so to harass, ridicule, ride with, keep us in check.

.... im almost getting used to him.

:haha:

Can't imagine why he'd want to ride there more than here... its cold, our skis run like :):):):) at altitude, no surf, very few lakes, even less that dont have stupid regulations...

That being said, I see him about once every 2 years. Sorry you have to put up with him so much more than me. :icon16:

Will you need to reinforce the inside when removing the foam. Been thinking of doing the same thing but am concerned about losing strength.

If you remove the foam, then the inside and the tray area would definitely have to be reinforced.

I did not remove the foam, I used styrofoam in the bottom of the hull, and 2lb two part foam in the top for structural integrity.

The theory is that although you may get some water in the two-part foam above, the styrofoam gives it a place to drain down to as gravity takes over.

So far this is working, and I am able to drain the inside after every ride. (bout 2 teaspoons)

Once completed, I will be sealing all the areas with 5200 and putting styrofoam instead of two part closed cell foam as well as installing some drain plugs to the rear. this way, there should never be another water intrusion issue.

You'd think Yamaha would have done this from the get go. One of the few advantages SXR's have over an SJ
