Just used this stuff from Home Depot today, about 7 dollars. Only did one carb as I didnt have gloves and the stuff was burning me like crazy, paint bubbled right off after just a couple minutes. About 95% of it removed effort free. My paint was kinda coming off on its own in a few areas already. 2008 Superjet, 38 Mikunis. Ill take pics of next carb before and after tomorrow when I get gloves. I use acetone and all kinds of stuff and can usually take the burn but this stuff was pretty intense.

It kinda makes me worry about his carb update...

I just used a gallon of carb cleaner and rigid a small bubbler from an old fish tank of mine to agitate it a bit. 30 mins later, it removed 100% of the paint. Cleaned it off, spray it with a silver epoxy paint and it looks grand.

ZERO, how far do you disassemble them before soaking? I ask because your before picture has the set screw in. Will the soak damage the orings or throttle shaft bushings?

Im sure zero will chime in but def will not hurt the bushings. However if left in the cleaner for any length of time it could def dry out and ruin any rubber parts of the carb (o rings included).
