ok ok,throw a big pipe,timing,compression,porting,155 pump at it and I might get a tiny buzz...lol
I totally get what you are saying! I rode Taylors new Edge with just a Bpipe, Dasa head, Enhancer and light flywheel with a Yami 155 and I was stunned!^^ easy! There's nothing buzz kill about a good ol' 701.

OEM 155 pump in that edge. I could ride that ski wide open flat or chop, super stable and would cut hard, short rideplate too. I asked why no Carbon pipe and they said it just didn't work on the 701, no porting, stock carbs, Bpipe FTW!
Heard a few people loved that ski @badvinny . Was it a oem yamaha 155 pump with proper impeller or a 155 mag?
@JRock637 and @jason184 how would you compare the edge's ability at high speed runs and +25-30mph turning to even the pre 08 sj? Not sure any aftermarket hull can compare to the +08 hull at high speed.......
Hookup was great, don't know the pitch, sorry!@badvinny how was the hook up from the oem 155? Any idea what pitch impeller was used to get the 701 alive on the bottom with the 155?
Shut up.Quit riding crappy chop and ride big clean surf and you are good.
Can see where you are coming from. Those Tem built freaks are TOO light. Tougher than rocks, just not heavy enough. Even my circus which was built for flatwater freestyle was too light. There is no such thing as a good setup wake. They are all small. Unless people have experienced it, they wont realize or agree with it. Being so light they make you work more in any type of water. You feel every single ripple in the surf/chop. On the other hand, the edge rides like a long, heavy hull to me. I would love an edge as a back up boat (to replace my superjet) but could never make it my daily. As much as i prefer the ride of a freak over an edge, i think youd be happier on an edge for your riding style.Cannot figure out how peeps with freaks are riding them in semi choppy surf. Rode Hugo Sunday and got the living crap beat out of me. The Freak is just too damn light for those kind of conditions. Either got to figure out a way to make my Freak handle better and possible add some weight to it. Or go another direction. Just read ever post again in this thread. after owning my Freak for almost 2 years now. I have learned it does not ride like SJ's that I am use to. You are not going to carve a turn or turn hard. It is going to slide. 2 months ago I was going to sell it. Even had a possible buyer. Jr rode it and got off and said "your stupid to sell this" Turns out, the guy did not bring his cash and I had fun that afternoon riding. That said, I have ridden Hugo 2x now since then. First time was smooth and nice waves. 2nd Time is was choppy. I got bounced all around. This has been regrouping that decision. No matter what, Keeping my Driveline!!!!! DASA 820 is dialed and so is the pump and pipe.
