RICKTER talk

How short is your poll? Are you doing nose stabs with both feet in the holds or surf stance one foot forward?

I found it was a little hard to do nice nose stabs, but after shortening my pole I normally do a 360 roll/nose stab..

I'm running my pole even with the hood latch/bulkhead & found that,s about perfect for the FS1..

I cut 2.5" from the poles sent with the hull so I'm not sure what the overall length is. My bars do sit directly on top of the hood latch though so it sounds like we're about the same.

what does the original hood seal look like?? the one on mine looks just like an OE superjet seal...

bout 15 minutes ago painted the bilge of mine with Interlux Bilgecoat....seems a great product went on very nicely kind of a medium shade of grey

its drying in the dining room right now :)

another tip i didnt see was to get full length out of all your cable put a slit about 1" in the flex tubes just inside the hull and run your cable through there it will make a big difference of how much room you have .

Allways check bolt lenghts i know it was said but do it .

these hulls are improving everytime i get one the insides are much better now .

they all come with aluminum exhaust tubes now so if you have fiberglass be carefull not to overclamp them or reinforce them now just to prevent anything.

scuppers still suck so watch them the first time you put them in the water and adjust of fix as needed

new hood seals maybe coming for future models i was told and maybe pump shoes as well and installed .

sn cables will give you about 3-4 more inches in length as well

One thing to know rick is a perfectionist and spends alot of time trying to impriove everydetail that comes about so i would presume every year this great hull will only get better .

any questions on them let me know i would say i have built 30 or so at this point

My scupper leaks. The ski is less than a year old. Anyone have GOOD replacements yet? I got some replacements for my Wammer last year and they came with a layer of some sort of suede/leather type material that seals up great.

Im totally happy with mine best ski I ever owned, I would buy another one in a heartbeat. I can put the FS2 in places on the wave that with a superjet are impossible, no pearling issues, the motor being set back helps out alot, turns very postive, very easy to ride and stable. When I first rode in daytona I felt very comfortable very little learning curve coming from a superjet, everyone that i let ride it has felt the same. The rickter will help bring your riding to whole a new level, for being an aftermarket the assembly was very easy and everythingg lined up fairly well. You get alot more from hull the was built by the one of the best riders out there. The only issues is the scupper does suck, I glued mine shut i would never use one in a surf boat anyway saw to many ski's sink because of them. I know there was alot of talk about structual and build quality but the only other aftermarket hull i know of that didn't have structual problems was the superfreak hull.

how bout a pole lock so they stand up whilst fueling
grind a little bit on the pole or just move the stopper bolts pretty easy fix . i run all my poles tight so it never really seems to be an issue for me .

a little more adjustability with the footholes forward and back...by the time they are all the way forward there's still 2" of room to spare

if you flip the plate the other way it will allow more forward stance but keep in mind this is not favorable for backys

yea i am working on a scupper fix just to fit rickters , because the one we make is currently to big to use in the existing tunnel for me not such a big deal but for retail its got to bolt in or glue in easy

i have some am sn cables and measured them up and they got identical throw out of them side by side with a 2007 oem cable when you measure from mounting point to mounting point . But the housing is decieving becuase the one piece i believe from memory is 3-4" but the actual movement was 4-5"
now i have never bought them oem at twice the price but it could be different i suppose . But still it is only 3-4 of extra length 12" would be ideal , i am working on some as well just trying to get pricing where it makes some sense .

If you sink your Rickter does she go down to the bottom or is there enought float to keep the tail up?

they are supposed to have some polystyrene inside the tray..dnt know how much though...

I put nose foam in mine, so it should help.....

has anyone added an EXTERNAL fuel filler to a Rickter yet??? I hate taking off the hood

Working on a solution as well
as I broke my SN cable on the 1st ride

but for the record OEM cables I measured
FX-1 116 inches oal 3 in throw
pre 08 RN 122 inches oal 4 in throw
SQ 125 inches 3.5 throw

we have a cable in hand that should solve all problems:bananajump:
