RICKTER talk

Working on a solution as well
as I broke my SN cable on the 1st ride

but for the record OEM cables I measured
FX-1 116 inches oal 3 in throw
pre 08 RN 122 inches oal 4 in throw
SQ 125 inches 3.5 throw

we have a cable in hand that should solve all problems:bananajump:

roundie cable works with ZERO issues if you dont run the breather tubes al the way to the bottom of the hull....no funny angles, it installed just like it woud in a RN..

with the waterbox in front of the breather tubes they dont need to run all the way to the bottom

Im missing something
I have no clue on how you would get the waterbox "in Front " of the breather tubes, it barely fits behind them

Good news is my newest cable is the right lenght, runs along the side of the hull where it belongs, has no radical bends in it, has tons of travel and only requires moving the mount on the pole back 2 inches

IDOK, I know it's not on a Rickter but it shows what an external fill will look like anyways. It would have been way easier to plumb if it was mounted on the side like a superjet but the side has too much contour and i didn't want to risk distorting the cap or the hull. The hose is slightly kinked to get it in there but I'm sure a few more hours behind the counter at Auto Zone would find a hose with the perfect bend.

UPDATE: I ordered an FX1 and SN filler hose to try out and the SN hose fit like a glove. I was able to fill the tank at full speed with no backflow at all. I am so pleased with the whole thing now.

so now that i got a couple rides on mine i guess i can post here.

the overspray while ridding sucks. im getting used to it but ive done a couple blind backflips and bottom turns because of it also. i really dont dig drilling 3 self tapping skrews into my ski either. ill figure something out later.

check your foot hold bolts. i lost 2 this weekend but i alos didnt lock-tite them so o well. didnt do anything regarding moving but...boy o boy putting those nuts and bolts together are a breeze.....sike! lol its hard. oh and lock-tite your pole and steering.

i need a longer steering cable. the SN throw is ok but the more throw the better, im not shortening my pole either to make a RN cable fit either. some one make one.....

this FR-2 is the best thing i have rode in the surf. granted i havnt got a chance to ride a matrix, superfrak, or anything else.....im really hoping to ride other things but i highly doubt ill sell this thing ever.

oh yeah i nosed a flip into the ground pretty good in oregon. didnt do a thing.

Its hard to ride the surf without the spray rail. I hated drilling into my nose..... I'm using just one screw in the nose to mount the spray rail. I'm going to try a RRP long ride plate this weekend....I'm trying to keep it hooked up a little better for surfing.... It might slow the BF's a little, but that what big HP is for.

I might have to give Chris a call & try his nozzle, wounder if it will work with the Thrust trim.

My Ski is holding up great, I was going to sell it but looks like I'm keeping it & changing motors....

Nothing beats a Rickter in the surf, imo

Zack I love the Rickter... I just need to play with the setup some more to fine tune it. Superjets suck once your on a Rickter, but a lost SJ oh well, lost Rickter = wks of diving. lol

I'm gonna drop my XS1000 into a superlight flatwater hull, & put a big bore something into the Rickter. That XS1000 is way to much $$$ for a surf ski..

I'll post on Monday with the new longer ride plate.
