RICKTER talk

anyone having any issues with hood seal on the rickter edge?
i have a new 2017 edge and i have done all the adjustments,,,hood prongs,hood hooks etc..etc...
the dollar bill test is fine except a 4 to 5 inch spot on the very front... straight in front of the right hood prong/hook...
it may not be enough of an issue to cause much of a leak?
my ski bogs out for about 5 seconds after a flip nosed in or a 180 nose dive...ski doesn't go deep and its only underwater for about 2 to 3 seconds..
any suggestions on a fix or problem solve?
thanks

Working on a fix w mine too. What brand hood prongs you using? I'm using KP prongs and hood as far down as possible still dollar bill slides. Might try rrp or oem.

I'm about to put a reverse ratchet strap on one side and standard latch on other.

Others have this problem too, many might not know.

Someone mentioned putting a layer of something under the seal to bring the seal up

Has anyone here ever put together and installed the new lightweight pole bracket which comes on the new Ninja comp hulls? I received one air mail for my next Phantom and it is confusing to say the least because it came with instructions for the rrp superjet bracket. I know I know its a darn pole bracket how hard could it be? well it came with about 4 times the required amount of bolts in various lengths and the countersunk bolts that mount the ears are about 5mm too long. Also when installing the ears and pole stop blocks, It is either machined to such a close tolerance or machined wrong all together because they dont like going together.

I hear the Rickter hoods aren't known to pop because of there shape but does anyone run hood straps as extra insurance? Where do you mount your front straps? Under the hood hooks? Pole bracket bolts? or drilling fresh holes. Thanks20180422_153221.jpg

I had a shackle through the area in green on my old evo, worked great. I used the strap to hold my hood pad down too. The hood design is great but better safe than sorry dude.

I’ve seen an 2017 Xfs hood pop on a failed back flip and it sank to the bottom of the river. Walked away with the hood and tank. We all now run hood straps. Worth the extra insurance.

returfed my fS2 in the off-season and added another 10mm plush underpaid in the tray but now i can't open my holds up to kick in far enough. I'm definetly not the first guy to ad more underpad on a rickter so I'm wondering what everyone's doing to get more room? Drill out the hold mounting holes larger? My Asics are only 10's. Thanks

On my ninja holds (different hull) I drilled new mounting holes lower in the backing plate of the hold itself to bring the holds up.

Lots of room fortunately, already got them off the ski on the bench ready to pop some holes. Contemplating blasting one in just below or where I've marked, regardless a minimum of 10mm is needed for the pad and the hydroturf is definetly thicker than rickter turf. Where I've marked is about as low as you can go before your washer and nut will interfere with the fiberglass on the other side of the hold.20180520_083017.jpg

The widest point on our XFS is around the hood latch area and it's about 29" across from the outside of each rub rail.
From the nose to the rear center part (it sticks out further) of the tray is 81"
Depending on what pump or nozzle set-up you have it will stick out beyond the tray. Our 155mm set back Skat Track and RRP trim set-up sticks out another 4", so 85" total length from the nose to the nozzle.

Thanks!

Needing some feedback/help I have a rickter ninja and am going to run a rear tank. Need some pics and info on what people have found works best for side mounting the electronics. I am running Msd total loss on an x-scream bracket.
I have also seen a picture or two of a bracket mounting an ebox above the flywheel cover, does anybody have any info or pics of the bracket or set up.

Thanks.

3 UFO mounts from Jet Maniac epoxied on using a cold fusion ebox bracket is what i run. could probly get away with 2 of thier big mounts and mount the ebox directly to them.
