Custom/Hybrid Rickter vs superfreak..

No , We are building a full length Superfreak B.A. with top deck paint and turf for an additional $1100.

Go to thrust Monday. They will have new xfrs in Stock. Who said 1300 for turf?! Jesus. Haha. Both skis have there unique stuff going on. But I think the freaks are pretty simple but I've built at least 15 of them by now.

Mine went together very easily and it's not his latest hulls with improved fit/finish. Maybe I got lucky or maybe people just expect perfection. I'd rather spend a few extra hours/days building to have a better end result in ride quality.
IMO you should focus on ride quality and what suits your needs. Haven't ridden all the Rickters but I can tell you it's very hard to break a Superfreak.

Per my understanding all late model Rickters (glass or CF) are build with epoxy resin, vacuum bagged = super strength, right?
SuperFreak Titans tray, with none adjustable footholds and turfed by Thrust is absolute PIMP, so roomy and comfortable.

They are definitely nice skis (freak). They take days to put together though and don't come turfed (which is around a $1300 job ) I don't have to worry about dialing it in as I'm only swapping in my 701. I guess you can say im a little OCD when I want every bolt and clamp to line up correctly and have no issue going in; this is why I'm leaning towards a rickter. Just need to know which one !

Hell, i'll do that turf job for $1250!! lol

I have a SF and I love it, but judging by your posts you sound better suited to a Rickter. IMO the SF leaves a bit to be desired as far as build quality goes. Good luck at Thrust, hope you can find something you like.

Depends what you mean by build quality. Rickters may have better fit and finish but I've seen Rickters fall apart a lot more than Superfeaks. Tem is a composite genius but not a perfectionist on finish and bling factor

^^That seemed to be a problem with Rickters in the first couple years. Since then, they have been pretty much bullet-proof. I've seen them lawn-darted over and over from high up without ill effect. I personally don't much care for Rickters, but durability wouldn't be a concern nowadays.

Superfreaks are also very durable, but can have issues with hood liners, motor mount inserts, and battery trays on early hulls. Maybe that's something that's fixed now, I don't know.

I have seen TC lawn dart his nose off the ocean floor with no major damage which is very impressive. There are a lot of repaired Rickters in Australia. Their surf is huge compared to anything here so I imagine anything gets beat up worse than in the US so maybe its an unfair comparison?. The battery tray in the early Freak I'm not aware of them breaking rather than just being a poor design. I do know of the hood liners but have never heard anything about the motor mount inserts. My motor mount plates and inserts have sustained a lot of abuse. Not trying to be a fanboy, just stating the facts I know.

With that said I wish I could say I've ridden many different lengths of the Badass hull but I'm limited in what lengths Ive tried. I did just ride a Circus in big choppy surf today and can say I was very shocked and pleased with how it rode. Had a small engine that was over propped which may have helped but I had zero issues keeping the nose down and was amazed how stable it was and so easy and fun to slash waves with. I imagine the -9" Tiran would be amazing! XFS/R may be very fun as well but I can't speak from experience

I've pulled motor mount inserts out of my Freak. It also broke 3/4 Cold Fusion motor mounts, so maybe it's me, IDK.
