I disagree. people asked for more action shots from a freeride. I don't see anything wrong with that.
Maybe we should be glad they cover our freerides? They do it for us, not for money. No other US magazine gives a crap about freerides. Ride is the only one showing the love.

I'm glad but would like to see more action. I just saw a mag today at the bookstore that covered the pismo ride and the bali ride. personal water craft illistrated maybe? I don't remember the title. I should have bought it I guess.

You hit the nail on the head. Freeride is barely even a spec on the radar.

when was the last time you seen 350 couches show up for a poker run

how many skis at the world finals? i bet daytona wasnt that far off

i think nick did a great job with this event. nick raised the bar to a new level we can only hope next year will be better. i would think Ride Mag should have more than 3 pages of one of the biggest events of the year. $hit the freeride was in the off season. what other pwc stuff do they have to talk about.

Jerry...It could be worse.......Im sure that RIDE tries to incorporate the "family unit" into their publications as well..so, there's always going to be a certain % of that stuff regardless.

at least you got beat out by family pix vs. a pic of Idok throwing a crappy stab

With the shots that Ronny :)hail: ) has gotten of you in the past, and with your video editing skills..Your freeride resume will sparkle

now quit being a ********ing crybaby and hit that double

:firedevil:

who gives a ******** who was in it, I liked the coverage since I wasnt there. Could it have been more? Probably, but I'm happy with what they had.

maybe the people at ride dont like the surf stance roll? (ducking and running )

In all seriousness, a ride of that magnitude should have had some serious coverage, but I dont think its Ride's responsibility to do that. Someone needs to step up and make it happen.

I am a freakin Whining Baby, But you just took the taco !:bs2:

Watercraft Mag, has just about laughed in my face, and they are VERY WEST COAST BIAS ! SO as far as who and what they picked... GOOD !

They have no Idea who is who, and just picked some pics....

I think this thread is complete waste... I agree with superjet and ronny.

This ride was for fun and making a good cause charity... I just wish we could of sent all that money for the lifeguards to Joe Kenney.... That would of been great, and my only comment...

Jerry, and the west coast crew.... I love you guys... but please...
This thread is pathedic.... and when you get my arse in your watercraft mag... then comment on no west love in ride...
They made a whole new section "FreeZone" just for us... its a start for exposure.... who knows where this could go !

I'm not really sure what you are getting at with all that. I've got no pull, and no contact with watercraft magazine, and I've only ever even seen one issue....so I couldn't comment much on their bias.

I suppose I was a little too personal with my "awa good ol' boys" comment, but I was just a little miffed with what seemed to be presented. On the other hand, I still make no apologies for being less than impressed with the daytona article. You know, FWIW last years article was much much better.

Local preference? I don't know.
But it I seem to remember that not one single east coaster was picked for the JK contest last year, despite several open "reserve" slots and dropouts.

I don't really have a point, other than: it happens, and goes both ways.

you read my mind..........

But like Darin and Ronny both said, in different ways.............. They do the best they can and they do not know where the riders come from........ no Bias there.................

I just think that there should be a magazine devoted to only Freeriding, racing, and Freestyle!... Basicaly a Magazine for the pole ski riders...... I looked through Nick's issue, and that section of the mag was all I that I enjoyed...... the rest of that mag didnt have much to offer. IMHO> Much like all the other Jet Ski Magazines that are out there...... Maybe I have just flipped through way to many MX magaizines.

there is one, it's called XMI

if you say so.

there was a pro and am comp at the daytona freeride too.

I think you're taking this stuff too personally.

OK, Daytona was not a competiton................ yes, there was a sick trick contest, just like we have had at Lanier the past few years.......... But the whole weekend is not listed as a competition unlike the Joe Kenny competition a few months ago that was a competition........... There is a huge difference................

Last time I checked freerides were for fun, personally, I dont give a flip about the buildoff's, the sick trick competitions, etc.......... I like to hang out.........

for those who have said they liked to be recognized, freerides are not the place, where is the place? check your regional promotors calenders, get off your ass and compete in freestyle.................. that is why freestyle and racing is just about dead............... People will not step up, but they will bitch when their name is not listed in an article that is about freerides................................

I am very Thankful for the AWA, and even more they cover our rides...

Just for you Jerry, I will tell them to make sure if there are west coasters there... they are the best in the world and better put their pics all over...

I personally dont care. and if you look at older Rager coverage...

I specificlly told them that this it EVERYONES RIDE, not pancakes...
and I only got a faded out pic where the writing was in 2005 i think...

Again... I am thankful that they even put our rides in the mag....
I fight for exposure anywhere I can get it for the sport to be exposed.
They had covered a couple freerides in there speed zone section...
I told Chris from AWA, I dont want our rides to be associated with
racing... and he made the free zone at My request.. For the freeriders.

So for you unbelievable ungratefulness. I would stop now !
I like you jerry, but this is disapoointing.... How bout some solutions for the mag... I can tell them any Ideas, and they will try and incorporate it.
OK I'm done....

Thank you Chris and AWA if oyu read this... I apologize for this thread.
I think its that time of the month !:haha:

x2... it was a freeride not a comp! also, any positive exposure is GOOD... whether names were right, typos whatever. Hopefully they'll (editors) learn from that for next time, but it's still good exposure!
