As to the thread hijack: While I was (trying) to ride, my wife and @wavewarrior took a vote on the beach last Sunday that I plug the gay spray on my mostly stock FX-1.
I am not gay, but I think its kinda cool.
What say you?
As to the topic: Yes, I have learned to prefer surf stance for turning.
And Dave told me to edge the ski and then pressure the rear foot to keep the aft edge anchored while building G's in higher speed turns.
I am working on it. (I don't know how to jump.)
But I definitely know from snow skiing: "Edge first, Pressure second."
P.S. I confess that I also use Klotz oil.
Yeah, then you run a Tomski front foothold and have the best of both worlds.Footholds are in the back. So if you want you feet held in, that's where you stick em. So jumping and what not they go there. For cruising around, going fast etc, surf stance in where its at. Easy peasy.
You also dont squat on a narrow plank of fiberglass floating on water either! There was a pole taken years ago that determined just how few guys can actually do barrel rolls. I keep both feet nailed in the footholds so I don't come flying out when I do rolls and flips. Better riders than me do surf stance and can roll both directions. I never found it comfortable in surf stance. And when I'm at the gym doing 400lb squats and deadlifts, I don't stand surf stance either
That's 550 tray talk like trying to balance on a 2×10 hahaYou also dont squat on a narrow plank of fiberglass floating on water either!
Ever try a 300sx? Its like you have time wipe and moan to...err..completion before it planes out lolThat's 550 tray talk like trying to balance on a 2×10 haha
