Is there any reason why you couldn't make the transition from the cut piece to the rest of the hood smoother? I know, it's a bit of extra work, but if you could get it right, and make a plug..... :)

Also, as far as the liner is concerned, another way to do it would be to get some lycra, and hang/stretch it in there until you have the desired shape. Brush some resin on it, and let it go hard, and then hit it with some glass. Then, you have a nice smooth, natural flowing liner!

Don't just sit there, bust a move!

I will be doing this shortly. Did a squarenose hood in last year. Yes, the transfer needs to be smoother/rounded IMO.

I'll be making a plug out of mine.

the reason is that was my first attempt and i did not plan it out too well. next one will be much smoother.

i may be wrong

but i was looking at your 3 blueish hoses for air if they stick in near the bottom and lets say you have 6 inches +- in the hull and the water is flat and the tubes are under the water in the bilge how will your carbs get air.
i could be so wrong but maybe not

I would imagine that no water will be sustained there long enough to restrict any airflow to the carbs. I could be wrong though. With a bilge or two, or a scupper especially, it doesn't seem like it would be an issue.

i cut the hoses down to about 5 inches (did not put that pic up) and they are curved to the side plus i do have a scupper and two bilges so im not worried. good point though.
