Rockered shortened Superjet build

Well the lack of daylight is killing me. When I rockered and chopped my blaster I did all the work in my garage and murdered it for over a year. I've been conscious about doing all my cutting, sanding, and spraying outside this time and only glassing in my garage which really limits my progress. It's hard to put a timeline on it because of that but I'd like to have it done in a month or so. Deciding to widen the tray is going to put a damper on progress too since I'm ready for paint now otherwise. I've also been doing other glasswork as well

i have a sj and would love to rocker and shorten it. but I've also been looking into A/M hulls and was curious if its worth it to chop up my hull. since you have a A/M hull i was wondering the deference in riding between the two and the price differences between both builds.

I can't answer that question. It's personal preference and depends on your riding style and personal needs. Even my own preference and needs have changed as I progress as a rider. PM me if you have more questions

It sound like my build just when you think your ready to paint there somthing else to do..nice job it looks like your close to getting it DONE.it interesting what u have quoted on the a/m hulls.i never own a a/m hull and always wishing i own one,but after what u had quoted i hope my hull handle better than a a/m hull....

Don't get me wrong I love my AM hull but there's a lot out there that don't get the job done any better than a modded oem. Most important thing is practice

2 riders out of the top 3 in surf and style comp in Daytona were on oem (chopped up) hulls.

It nice to know that.i was hoping to fly to daytona to see other chop up hull and see how they ride in the surf.there not alot of modded sj hull here in wa state,if there is i haven't seen them...

So I decided to widen the tray since most people want that... Adjustable footholds? I'm personally not a fan but I figured a lot of people do like them. Thoughts?

I dont like the bob style adjustable holds, but that is just me.

I was wanting to widen my RN tray as well, but I feel like foothold options are really limited to only adjustable holds.

Could you cut the outside off of some holds and glass em in? Obviously your foot won't get as deep but the wide tray will be more of a payoff imo

If I don't do adjustables I'm leaving the holds where they are and widening the tray everywhere else. So the wings will still stick into the tray the same and they'll have the same depth in them but the tray will be more roomy in front and behind the holds. It'll be more like an FP1 tray which is clearly a modified Superjet hull with the gunwhales being half the thickness of stock

Well after deciding to widen my tray last weekend I had an incident with a sawzall and cut into my finger and through the bone.

That sucks and still does but pain is better now and I continued to make more progress today. I'm sticking with non adjustable holds. The tray gained about 5" of width
