anyone got any food left over that they dont want any more? i forgot my lunch.
Weird...
Here's the better video I made when we had a summer day with some surf:
That’s lame. I’m not sure why, maybe a mod would know best? @bigkahunaI can’t see any pics on this build thread. How come?
Definitely shorten the rear! It takes weight off the nose, reduces spray and makes the ski more nimble. You can always run different rideplates to fine tune how you’d like it to rideIm almost done rockering my SN and thinking about going -2 or -3 on the tear ( still undecided ). Most the rockering and shortening threads the pics are gone not just this one.
Thanks Harrison! I’d guess tapatalk...No idea on pics, where were they Hosted? Glad to see you back Jamie..........
Thanks for the pics and advise. I’ve read every part of this thread and the thread of Chase Musetti’s build. You both built these amazing skis then sold them. Wondering if it’s worth the time to keep modifying my hull. When we ALL know deep down we want that AM hullThat’s lame. I’m not sure why, maybe a mod would know best? @bigkahuna
I built it with the intent of selling it regardless of how it rode. I built it as if I was keeping it though because it’s my name on the work that I perform. With that said I loved the ski and had a blast on it before it sold. I haven’t ridden for 2 years and my buddies keep giving me poop for it... I may sell my SV1 and build the purple SJ in the pic and honestly would like to build it nearly the same as this one. I’m having a hard time justifying keeping an AM ski that doesn’t get ridden for 2 years but I’m stubborn about parting with toys. So as of now it’s just thoughts in the back of my mindThanks for the pics and advise. I’ve read every part of this thread and the thread of Chase Musetti’s build. I work too much and I’m busy with life mostly. Single income with 4 kids. It’s easier for me to surf before work or on a weekend when I still have house or family stuff to do on my one day off. I didn’t quit though hahaWhy you not riding brother.
Honestly I think it’s too abrupt and too tall. You need to cut back further on the bottom deck to begin your rocker curve earlier and also lower it closer to the bond rail otherwise it’s just going to be a spray machine and will only prevent pearling when the nose is already under water and you’re eating a waterfall. I made a similar mistake on a blaster that I rockered a long time ago. Cut back closer to the motor front mounts. You’ll have to cut off your tank and waterbox mounts and remake themI’ve read a well rockered and shortened SJ is as good or better than AM hull. I’ve riden AM hulls just not a rockered or shortened SJ. I’m playing with a SN right now. ANY tips would be GREATLY appreciated!!! Shaped foam last weekend.
This was my favorite build thread- ski looked perfect and motivated me to do mine. I would have kept mine if I rode mostly surf.

I regret now not buying your ski. I got a great deal but I dint get the ski I TRULY wanted a Rockered Roundnose shortened. It was the last comment on your build post that kept me from pulling the trigger. Where you would only cut 2 inch instead of 4 off the rear. It wasn’t perfect lol
