I am cutting on my SN this season, I did a -3" angled cut in the rear, and doing a semi-rockered nose.
I would like to see what else has been done and hear any raves / regrets / pointers before I start buttoning it up.

Truth be told I'd dump an aftermarket hull for a rockered/chopped -4"/wide tray superjet...if done right, but the time for the build is lengthy. I'm surprised when someone puts the effort into doing these that they ever sell them. They make the perfect free-ride platform. If another carterB or sportfish's yellow one pops up I'll be looking hard. I've seen lots of hack jobs too that I'd be scared to thrash too. Gotta be done right.

mines getting painted right now. Carter B rocker, shaved fuel filler, wamiltons carbon hood, -6 of the bottom rear, BOB foot holds that with about a 4" shorter tray that is stupid wide. The ski is shorter than my BOB gen 1 and my buddies DVX but longer than a revolver. Honestly im extremely excited to get it built. I started cutting it up almost a year ago. finally caved and got someone else to do the glasswork and am glad I did because it looks amazing.

Do you suggest the angle or straight cut in the rear?
And -4 better than -3?

supposedly the angled cut allows the back of the ski to release better( from what ive heard). personally I don't like the angled cut so mine is straight. The shorter you go the higher the nose will ride, and the better it will turn. I plan on flat water flipping mine which is why I went so short. -4 is ideal as its about the shortest you can go and still use the 4 front holes on a SN rideplate to mount it. any less and your only using the front 2 or drilling holes in the ride plate.

I rockered my roundnose earlier this year.
Carter B kit used as mold glass layed into the hull
-4 straight cut
Bunch of tray work
2 months of my life
Prob $2000 into hood, rocker kit,gel coat etc
Flipping a ski you built yourself is priceless!!
Love the way it rides in the surf

Here is a few pictures of mine when its dirty. I rockered it two summers ago and it has held up good. I am about to cut it back open to shorten the rear, widen the tray, and paint it. I used the carter b kit. Took me about a week to do it working on it into the night after work. The actual kit is more of a template. I glassed the kit on but you have to grind a lot off and re-glass to get everything to evenly transition. I also reinforced the whole nose from the inside. It does ride different, specially in the surf, but there will be a lot more water in your face since the lack of a splash guard. All in all I would rather put another rocker kit on then put on turf again. I hate laying turf. Its really just "arts and crafts" and playing around with your resin/hardener mix to get the fiberglass to lay right.

A lot of the time I spent planning how to move the pole forward, but once I finally made my decision, it took a good deal of time and more beers. I didn't really itemize the exact amount of time it took, but it felt like an eternity.
