Decided to do an upgrade on the rocket last weekend.Swapped the 735 for a 865 l have had for a while. The swap went well but l ended up having some blockage in one of the cooling lines making the chamber just past sizzling point.l mean hot! Only rode for less than 10 min and took it home to clear the water lines.l have 2 props I'm trying right now.One a 11/17 hooker and the other a solas concord 13/17.From what l understand the skat 13/18 is the one to use with this size engine in the rocket.l am running the hooker right now and will change out to the solas after the next ride.Right now l like the 11/17 in the ski.But the other prop should be better.Stay tuned!

looking forward to see how the other props work out. I've got the 11/17 in mine as well. I don't have a good review yet in the 45 minutes I've had it on the water. Glad you got your other engine in excited to hear how you like it

The 865 is a nice engine and the power is strong throughout the power band. The "mighty 735" is a great little engine. When set up correctly she is as strong as most 865cc or more engines.Biggest difference l have felt is the 865 keeps pulling through the mid range.
l would have still had the 735 in the ski,but it just did not sound good during the last few rides.Something is going on,l think maybe the crank is having some issues.SO l thought before l detonate it and destroy,l would pull it out.Four long seasons with no issues is good enough for me.

Badfish, hope to see your Vision and take it for a ride! l never have rode one,but only hear good things from the owners

I've ridden the other 2 mighty XS735 motor that exist... One is a single carb setup and the other is dual carb. I was only impressed with one of them so it would have been cool to try yours while you're down here to ride soon! Oh we'll, I still get to try your Footrocket with 865, that's good enough for me! Looking forward to riding with ya...

Been riding some "surf" this week with the new set up.The waves have been ok,but nothing real clean and large. The engine has performed well and l'm running a hooker 11/16 borrowed from ScottS.My opinion is this is the right prop for my set up.The ski was treated like a ho on Sunday with several locals riding. Most opinion's were positive on the prop.On OZ,the mates are running 13/18 Skat's which seems to be their running concensus on that size engine. The props must be close in degrees, but just not the same type.l swapped ride plates for the long one but honestly l think l could be running the short one with such small surf.

The ski is great in the surf and predictable. No complaints with the ride.Nick designed a great ski with the best of both worlds in mind.

got to spend a few minutes in the surf with this ski on sunday....it was FUN!

Dons engine was spot on and felt like a sewing machine from top to bottom......hull felt like a modern day wide fx1..I was at home on it immediately

great ski!

^^ I rode it too and made that same comparison haha. I thought it felt like a shorter wider FX1. The motor was very smooth and linear, it pulled pretty good for a surf setup

l always enjoy riding with the st augie crew! Had a blast, even though the surf wasn't the greatest.May have to come down for the up and coming hurricanes!

Appreciate the nice comments about the rocket.l put that engine in two weeks before coming down. But somehow it all worked out with no problems. She ran like a champ and nothing broke! What more could ya ask for!

Now I really regret not making it down that weekend. I loved the way you set up your Freak and really wanted to try out the Foot Rocket too.

I'm going to be 2 hrs further south in the near future so hopefully we can catch up the next time you feel like making the drive south with one of your skis.
