The time has come - I will finally be on a full X-Scream Inc. setup this year. I have been running X-Scream Motors / Powerplants for years, but never there hulls. After riding one about a year ago, I knew I had to have one. It really is the best full package IMO.

X-Scream has been the best and most accommodating company I have ever dealt with in the Jetski industry and I cannot thank them enough. The attention to detail in there products is amazing... works of art really. I have never seen cleaner carbon work on a hull... this really is aerospace stuff! I choose to spend my hard earned money with them, because there support is the best.

Ok, enough pluggin' and onto the build!

Quick Summary:

Hull
  • X-Scream KDX Carbon Hull (46.2 LBS / about an inch shorter then standard KDX builds)
  • X-Scream Competition Pole/Bracket/Steering/Throttle
  • X-Scream Intake Grate

Drivetrain
  • X-Scream 1200CC Motor
  • X-Scream Intake & Modified Full Spectrum 49MM Carbs
  • MSD Total Loss Dual Channel Ignition
  • PowerFactor Exhaust System w/PowerBox (exhaust chamber modified by X-Scream to prevent breaking)
  • Skat 160MM 14-Vein Setback Pump

This thing is going to be a BEAST! :Eyecrazy:

I would like to find a way to run both the Firewall Gas tank, and the Jaz tank for more mileage on the great lakes, but it presents a number of problems that need addressing and probably will not go this route, but thought I'd share the pics anyway. The Firewall tank DOES fit with no problems, for those interested. If I only ran this tank, no problem for the battery and ignition where a "normal" gas tank would go... but if I am only going to run 1 tank, it will be the Jaz (which I have pretty much made up my mind, is the way I am going).

Running both, I would need to address: battery location, ignition location, and fuel selectors.

I am still debating on color... to be determined, but done and painted hopefully in the next week or two.

Next posting will be of it painted. For now here are some pics:

Finally, some more progress. I am not the greatest at painting, but I really enjoy doing it. My biggest problem - I get a bit trigger happy, and lay down to much material. When it came to the top deck and hood on round 1, I laid the paint to thick and had a few runs... to big to wet sand and polish out "nicely". After the paint had dried, I sanded with 320 to level everything out, re-taped everything, and had painted round 2. I made a conscience to not be trigger happy and dial the gun back a bit. Much better!

Next post will be of turf / final assembly.

Everyone likes pictures so here they are with captions below them :439:

Final mock up - hoses will all be replaced with same line type / color. Just wanted to figure out lengths and routing. Waterbox will be rewrapped black.

Bottom / back view - ready for paint.

Bottom / front view - ready for paint.

Bottom - sealer and paint - done. Minor orange peel, but not going to worry about wet sanding / buffing it out (it's the bottom...).

Top / back view - ready for paint.

Top / front view - ready for paint.

Top / front view and good - retaped, for round 2 of painting.

Top - sealer and paint - done. Minor orange peel, but will wet sand and polish out.

Hood - sealer and paint - done. Minor orange peel, but will wet sand and polish out.

Top deck and hood together before wet sanding and polishing.

Top deck wet sanded with 1200 grit. Bottom deck untouched. I have never wet sanded and polished a paint job before, so I was a bit scared to go for it, but I manned up and went for it.

Top deck polished. What a HUGE difference! Smooth as glass  I am totally stoked with how this turned out. Need to finish the hood and other side of the top deck.

And for fun, a pic of the 160MM 14 Vein pump. This thing is silly big.

Looks good! I like how the water box looks wrapped in turf, I think I'm going to copy you on that.
