I don't do WOT for more than a couple seconds so that's why I went with 35 cc.
Zack at php recommended 35 cc domes too. Just make sure I run premium, and I could add some av gas if I want to do alot of WOT, but I don't anyways.

You'll be fine, why only a couple seconds? Don't you like going fast? Adding compression isn't as much gain as adding a pipe or porting or anything but you'll notice a little. The best part is having the girdle. Buy tubbies now.

This^ you will be fine. If you are worried mix in a gallon of some 100 octane.

Honestly, I just don't trust going WOT. I refuse to hold it WOT for long because I can't afford to blowup a motor. After having one motor go, I'm more cautious with this one. With a worx 201,a 9/15 hooker, and a stubby cone I don't have that much top speed. If I'm going on a high speed run I'm usually at like 3/4 or a little more and I'll only hold it WOT for like a couple seconds at a time. I just don't hold it WOT. My ski is probs rich enough to be fine(b pipe jets and spring) , but I can't afford to lose a motor.. Make sense? It really sucks when you do..
I'd love to get a set of tubbies now but an ada head ends my ski budget of the summer! Rest of the money goes towards truck insurance and gas money, and college..

Doesn't make much sense to me. If you have motor, why not use it? If you were so worried about it blowing, why are you running an sbt crank? Do whatever you gotta do man, it's just a 701, they are put through more than that!!

There's somebody running an SBT crank in a TPE.. And plenty in other motors that have been doing great.
I am using my motor.I don't really care for high speed runs that much anyways. I'm usually doing stabs off of boat wakes and my setup wake and stuff like that. No need to hold WOT for more than a couple seconds for my riding style anyways.

Okay well thank you for agreeing with my point that 701 stuff can be put through quite a bit more than anything you're running. There is nothing to worry about.

Is it just me, or does a 701 with just a b pipe in terms of engine mods, feel like it's lacking something?
Cuz I put on the head and only have about 15 minutes of ride time since I got out on the water at 8:20 pm, and I feel like it brought everything together. Night and day for sure, it feels so awesome! I feel like it made an absolute huge difference in throttle response and power.

@Jhucke, turns out I do like going fast haha. I'm running 4 gallons of premium to 1 gallon of race gas just to be safe. When chasing boats I usually only go wot for a couple seconds, and longest time I've held it wot was 10 seconds straight after a few shot wot runs and then pulled the plugs.

that's from shutting it off instantly and swimming it in and then checking the plugs.
Then yesterday I felt a little crazy so after a high speed run across the lake I decided to peg it for a few seconds on and off, then about a 30 second or what felt like forever wot run, slowed down, then went wot for like 10 seconds towards my dock then swam it the test of the way in and pulled the plugs. They look ago that the same in person but they look a little different in the pics:

Whatdya think guys?

Well after riding a lot this summer already and advancing quite a bit, I plan on shortening the hull - 4 from the outside since my turf is too nice to tear up, shortening my pole another 4 inches so it's - 6,and then adding tom21 sponsons and removing stock graphics and going with a white and black theme.

In the process of shortening my pole -3 right now and d cutting my ride plate & redoing my bilge wiring & cooling hose length/routing to get a little more water pressure to my exhaust so I can tune the temp easier.
Not sure if I'm going to create another thread for this winter. For shortening I plan to do a straight cut including cutting the exhaust tube flush. I'll figure out what I'm gonna do to add support to the voids for me to lay glass over them. But for the exhaust tube, since I'm gonna cut it flush, I'm going to completely glass over it and then bore out the hole with a dremel to open up the hole again, and seal it if I need to. Shouldn't be too bad.

Would if I had time and the extra money :l. Don't think I'm gonna have time like I had this past season! Tubbies and a shortened ski should keep me pleased for a while though I believe, and definitely keep me busy on top of other little things I'm doing to my ski! If I rockered it I'd shorten the rear more and I'd have to move up the holds quote a bit, so I'm gonna hold off for a while. Plus lowering a square hood would suck..
What's new with your ski man?

Yeah that would make for an unbelievable amount of work. Tubbies will improve handling like you wouldn't believe. You can rip buoys like crazy then.

Well, I have a lot of options, I will deal with the most pressing issues like an xmetal pole probably and some other stuff. Depends on how much money I want to spend this year. What are you doing to your motor?

For sure. I'm toying with the idea of adjustable lengthwise holds right now due to the awesome benefit of a wide tray, but also because putting your weight more forward helps for rotation/getting inverted.
Im excited for tubbies! High speed turns are a joke with my ski haha. It's super easy to slide out.. It'll be nice to be able to lay it over more.
Nice! Xmetal pole is a good investment for sure, if you get one that's short enough to transfer to an am hull. Plus they look Damn sexy.
Nothing really, unless I add a lightened flywheel done by zero for 60$. My ski with 180 comp, b pipe, 9/15 hooked and stubby cone works pretty good for what I do. Has enough power for my own setup wake to nail some good stabs and I'm sure I'd eventually be able to roll off of my own wake. But really with the wakes on my Lake I don't really need much more power. I can get a straight up and down stab very easily off of these wakes.. There's some wakesurf boats that make absolutely massive waves that make for some good rotation time. It's about barrel roll time.. Haha.

Okay guys, I officially have pretty much made up my mind on what's going on for the next build, and i believe it'll involve another thread for it actually!
Shortened hull either -3 or -4, sponsons, completely widened tray to around the turf line on the upper gunwales, adjustable holds that allow more than 6 inches of lengthwise adjust ability to find that sweet spot after shortening the ski, couch mounts & some sort of engine keepers, bored steering nozzle & lightened flywheel, etc. Might rebuild my midshaft & pump stator too depending on how the bearings feel. Should keep me busy when I have some downtime during college! I realized I've got internet access and a heated office area in our family business's company warehouse that I can do homework in when I'm glassing and working on my ski, so it's all gonna workout good :)

Yeahhhh about that... I haven't had a second to work on my ski since college started. There's possibly a different hull in the works(more info coming later), so as of now I'm only getting my cylinders ported. MSOE has taken over my life aha!
