Surfriding RRP billet vs cast pole?

the RRP cast pole is much cheaper and I have never seen one break

RRP all the way!

I've heard of a member that had one that cracked and RRP replaced it free of charge...

But I agree with water freak, its not needed as the cast are very strong!

I have the cast pole and really wouldn't spend the extra money as it's unnecessary. If your anything like me you will need to save money for all the other components, steering system, chin pad, chin pad holder, yada, yada. Well, unless your having a billet pissing match with your buddies. I guess that seems to be the "cool" thing here. Not how skilled your riding is but how much billet you have on your ski...

Go with the CF steering system too instead of the RRP if you don't already have one, save yourself $130 bucks.

The cast break super easy and RRP WONT replace it. My buddy bought a brand new cast pole, and before it ever hit water the chinpad mount broke off. RRP had no interest in helping get it fixed. Buy the billet for the extra piece of mind

the chinpad mount is gay any way and not necessary with most AM chinpads

Just what I heard, never experienced it before so I can't say anything myself. Everyone and their mother runs RRP and I have yet to hear about another one breaking. Personally the only reason I'd dish out the extra money is so I could get the red.

Yeah, $60 chin pad holder BUT, it also doubles as a steering stop.

I just hated how I spend an ARM and let on the pole then I had to spend another $600 in other parts to make it operational.

If you wanna save go Xscream pole, you can have it in 3 size core, all ajustable of 3 inch. Best bang for the buck.

If you want an unbreakble pole pm Steve-UK. He will make you the best deal on ATP pole PERIOD.

95% of customer service i've heard from RRP-Rickter sucks.

Stick with the cast. I'm hard on stuff, no issues here. Before you bash me-I've owned the xscream adjustable. Absolute junk IMO. Not sure why people have such a hard on for them-both standard and metric hardware? Really?! Playskool's my first handlepole if I've ever seen it. Looks good, at first, nothing else. Give it a month and it'll be ragged with 'powdercoat' flaking in every direction. Not to mention their matching adjustable turnplate-LMFAO. I literally gave that junk away within a couple months in basically new condition minus bearing because I wouldn't have been able to sleep at night if I asked anything for it.
I've seen cast rrp's with several seasons of HARD use that still look great. Endless adjustment. Makes no sense to waist your money on anything else.
RRP and Cold Fusion FTW.

The difference between the cast and billet is that you dont have to run a spring in the billet RRP pole, you can just crank the pole bolt down super tight.. so it is stronger than the cast. I was told by steve at fast elements that the cast pole can possibly crack under the pressure..

I love my RRP pole, Always had Billet and never had an issue... I have seen the Gay chin pad bracket break on the cast poles.. Like Steve said there Gay and most A/M shin pads dont use that mount.. I've had good luck with the Xm poles, but I have seen them break and the steering I've always switched to another system..

I personally like the RRP billet, nothing wrong with the ATP there nice... My buddy has the ATP and said the bend makes it hard to look right on some skis and that it worked best on a RN SJ

So what are the cost options on a new cast pole as far as running the rrp pad and bracket, or running a rn pad? What pads fit and how? I don't want one, just curious. My son's interested, but will be running CF steering. What all is needed to get one complete and ready to run? I'm sure there are others that will want to know too.

Thanks fellas.
