The ATP pole is really nice quality, but the bend at the top makes it look terrible, imho.

Not to get off topic, but I wish a pole would come out that will change the bend, or make the bend adjustable. Flatwater guys running shorter poles have issues with the bend location. A hate the look of any pole way outside the hood, due to bend location. Just sayin..

The StarBar poles are actually really nice. I just ordered a white one and all i can say is WOW... Adjusts as easily as the RRP and as strong, if not stronger than RRP Cast. I also kind like the bottoms of them better too.

I bought a new cast RRP setup with a broken chinpad mount, a quick weld + the krylon touch and I save $250 bucks off new, you can fix these if you can weld you know. Who cares how much it weighs if you have a pinch bolt cranked down-you wont feel the weight difference if you have to overcome the friction of a tightened bolt.

A heavy pole does make a big difference in how the ride feels. It can make the ski top heavy and perhaps worse, when it's upside down it will stay upside down.

Yep, going with Matt on this one
6.5 lb carbon pole by Tem compleatly changes the feel of the ski
And the oems had a reason for the for the foam in the pole and the pad, its so the pole dosent hang down like a keel and keep your ski upsidown when you bale

I've break the top of the cast RRP pole at the reception of barrel roll and was injured....RRP replace the top part free of charge.
Now I've sold the cast and was very happy with the billet one. I'll always stick with billet pole, RRP, Titan or ATP but Billet !

The reason ATP put the bends in the tubes was to keep as small as possible the size of the billet top section, this in turn removes the need for all the stainless hardware that goes with it. This considerably reduces weight.

The bends
are also a different feature to all others, they can't account for everyones tastes.

Also it would probably end up cheaper and certainly a lot less trouble if ATP ditched the bends and made a modual top section with the angle set in it as per the previous pole but without the welds.

ATP tubes are now availabe with a lesser bend specifically targetting aftermarket hulls or the at the original standard angle which ever the customer has the choice.

Also poles are coming in lighter than before @ 4.130 kg

plus an ATP pole in NA is $820, which is $21 more than a cast RRP pole.

but its all about preference in looks, manufacturer and price bracket.
