why does the first pic of the ring on the nozzle look different on the left side? Rok had the stock yami trim ring on the wold finals ski setup he was using with the external flow control on it,they obviously have access to the best options and parts avail so id say there is deff something to say for that setup,if ya grind the oem ring pretty heavy you can get alot of trim out of it

if you dont grind the stock ring , you get about the same amount of throw as you do on the easy pull system. i have sold a :):):):) load of these stock nozzles with the buzzard mod on them and if you grind the ring clear down to the top bolt threads, you get a lot of throw out of it. the stock 155 rings and turn nozzles are larger in diameter than the 144 rings and nozzles. if you use the 155 rings and nozzles on the 144 reduction nozzles, you get more throw automatically, but lose a little thrust from the looser tolerances between trim ring and reduction nozzle. the 155 turn nozzle is a few MMs larger in diameter, so it goes better with bored nozzles.

It came with some little tab on the trim ring. I don't know why, but the right side of the trim ring was the only side that had it. I'm not sure if I can agree with the buzzard. My friends got ez pull and his gets more throw than my unmodified ring. I still have to grind on mine for max throw. I'll post more pics when I get done with the grinding

Here's my modified X-Metal trim ring to reduce the amount of water getting out before the steering nozzle. May not be as tight and efficient as the rubber tube, but no lube needed, no constant maintenance, surf friendly, and sends more water where I want it.
