When I rode Miller, I asked the guys the rules. And the first one was watch for fisherman and give them some room, because they're ass holes. Mark rides by that rule. Guessing the guy was being a douche and got Miller douched. Fisherman are always good entertainment, no matter what piece of water you're on. They own it evidently :-/

the bottom line here is THE MOTHER ER CASTED HIS LURE AT ME! as far as i'm concerned, its kind of the same as throwing a rock at me. it was intentional and nobody gets away with that , from me, period. its on. i should have jumped off my ski, grabbed him like a sack of potatoes and threw him , his pole and his tackle box in the river. his line was around my neck, but i dont know where it went. i was trying to get ahold of it to peel all the line off his reel too. with me and its on. i didnt spray him first. if i'm riding by and some fisherman is going to cast, he better wait until i'm past. if i see a fishermans line in the water, i swerve around it, i dont just run it over. i'm not trying to piss anybody off when i ski, but it does happen.

That’s my video and I posted it on YouTube. I take full responsibility for it. I just captured the incident between the Buzzard and the fisherman.</SPAN>

I try to be respectful of the fishermen and share the river with them. Some of these guys can cast a long ways, so I’ll leave them a wide buffer zone. Having said that, I sometimes don’t spot them on the shoreline. I know there were a couple of occasions when I ran over their lines inadvertently. They yelled at me to let me know. I circled back and apologized.</SPAN>

In this case, I was ahead of the Buzzard after we were returning from chasing a boat. I’m not exactly sure what happened next. All I know, this fisherman cast his line at the Buzzard which was wrapped around his neck. If you watch the end of my clip, you can see the Buzzard yanking at the line to remove it.</SPAN>

Here's the problem: Fisherman have ingrained in their brains that jetskiers are such assholes they are often the ones to instigate and further escalate. So ef that dude. He got what he deserved.

I've seen many times where its a known jetski ride spot, and some dumbass who has the whole ocean wants to fish right there and the skis and even buoys will be right there before they get there. These are the full on douche tip morons of society.

Now I also see a certain seepoo owner that will go out of his way and ride through the flats purposely harass fishermen and be the actual douche bag. That guy needs die.

It goes both ways at times.

Cast, throw, or shoot at a rider trying to show respect? I would think a roost is getting off easy as opposed to a full on adrenalin filled beat down.

That guy got off lucky for his douchery.

i love it! i got a couple jellyfish buzzard haters on the hook! stupid mother ers always think its buzzard season. usually i'm out of range, but when i'm not, that means they are within my range and thats not a good for them. i try and stay out of fishermans way, but i'm not constantly scanning the shore when i'm riding back, beat down from doing 40 rolls, looking for peasant bank fishermen. if some ass hole intentionally casts at me? i'm fresh as a daisy again with my shot of adrenalin and he's getting snake bit! just because you're too much of a wussy to confront some ass hole (except hiding behind your PC screen) I"M SURELY NOT! world finals boxing pals! i cant wait!

Without knowing the full story I can say LOL, you nailed him. I am going to assume you were riding by and woulda been gone in 10 secs but dude turned azzbag and casted at you.

I try not to be a prick and ride in the same pot near fisherman for any period of time. But I was out testing ALONE so needed to stay near shore a few weeks back and a dude and his girl were fishing off the bank.
I came in to tune and the dude says "we are trying to fish over here" I was like"yeah and fish dont bite when jet skis are running?" He was like "your messing with her bobber, why cant your ride on the other side of the lake?" I simply responded "why cant you fish on the other side of the lake" due to his tone I saw no reason to explain the fact I was testing and did not want to sink a ski 200 yards from shore trying to swim it back.
Just simple minded selfish people who think wherever they are they own the rights to whatever they are near.
Years ago had a fisherman pull a gun on us, the yankee in the group rode right up to him and said "What? Really? Your gonna shoot one of us for riding by dumb AZZ" We would have been gone past this moron in a matter of seconds as we were simply riding back down river. But this idiot decided to raise a stink, we have also had MANY cast their lines accross us and we would wrap the line around our arm a few times and hammer down.

Glad your encounter ended without a gun pulled or shot and hope he deserved the pump wash. Keep in mind he may be back with birdshot in a shotgun another day though.

The foreman on one of the jobs I was at was just bragging how he casts at jet skiers because he hates them. That type of mentality pisses me off.

Agreed. In my state it's headway speed 100 yards from shore. I have yet to see somebody cast 100 yards.

Regardless of who instigated what, a sharp object cast at a rider warrents a good, fun, old fashioned roosting. It's better than other options going through your mind....

Video doesn't show the whole story, I can't see him casting at you, can't see you pulling the line off your neck (even in full screen). It just shows a guy on a standup acting like a self entitled douche.

Its fine for a story, and I can see the humor, but having that on youtube is just a tool that anyone who thinks we're problematic to use against us. Its ignorant.


For those of you who feel like the water cops "target" us... this is one reason why. Justified or not.
