Im in the process of modding my stock seat into something in my mind 100X better

I today foamed the extinguisher and other compartment in. Later in the week i will be glassing over it and then eventually putting turf over it. this mod is to eliminate the seat all together without chopping the whole ski into a flat deck, no seat to me means 1. more room and 2. no hastle of haveing the seat fly off every jump. ill start posting pictures of my "build" is i continue

ya you have to have one, im not sure if you need to have a cetain size one or not, if you dont im gonna pick up a small one and put it on the inside of the hood

My ski used to self-right itself. I took the stock foam out of the hood and now it stays upside down when it rolls. I'm going to put foam back in it. Perhaps you might want to find another spot to put the extinguisher, maybe lower in the hull?

i dont have any foam left in my hood right now, im thinking the extra foam from were the seat was is gonna make it sit higher though

I have 2 different seats. A normal seat and a high seat (like 6" higher). The high seat is only good for cruising arround from one place to another. I'd image the lower the seat the better for freestyle or racing.

I'm going to use clips like Tom uses on his toe hold to keep the fire extinguisher in. I'm going to use 2 in the front (into the engine compartment) and 2 in the back (Into the pump cavity). Legdragger is using 2 in the front right now and it's working well for him. I'm going to use 4 and get rid of the latch all together. You're way is good too, especially if you want a lower profile seat. I'd like to still be able to change my seat though. I might also put 2 over the extinguisher under the seat so if the seat is off the extinguisher wont fall out. Onyl takes one to make sure that doesn't happen again...

glassed over the seat once with some thicker mat and wasent hard enough for me so i put anouther layer of thin mat to make sure its gonna last longer then the ski heres some pics of the glass


I put hydroturf over the seat and it looks sick now, havent got a chance to ride since my start went bad during this process [its allways something...] so im just gonna go ahead and do a comeplete overhaul i think and drop a 750 engine in there to step it up a bit, my next job after that lies within the dreaded DMV.... yes its true i havent registered it since i bought it and yes that was a stupid mistake since i lost the first title and had to obtain a second one[actually made money off that deal so... its all good :bigok:]

I did this on my X2 a couple years ago, and loved it. I cut it down a few inches too, then glassed it up and put two layers of 1" padding on the seat area, topped it turf. It's soft, and not going anywhere. LOVED it.
