I got my first E-check payment from Paypal the other day. Paypal even warns you not to ship items until the check clears. I did anyhow but I'm more trusting than others. I took a chance and Idok played more conservative. I can't say I blame him, I worried until the check cleared.

I would have been charged for the paint job on the nose seperatly, since they would already been done with the ski by the time I recieved the nose from IDOK. Not worth it. If I kew last week the shipping was to be delayed, I could have postponed the paint job a few more days. Now it's a little to late. Instead I was told it was shipping ASAP.

I have an email from Paypal recieved on 4-10 that the funds are in his paypal account, so there should be no reason for a delay on the refund.

The check is now cleared with his account, IDOK was ready to ship tommorrow. I learned my leason now and won't post that PM.


a nose piece is not that difficult to paint, no harder than painting a helmet and if you are doing a solid color it can be done in about 3 hours start to finish



and just for everyone's clarification

ASAP = As Soon As Possible

Idok said ASAP, he didn't say that day. Today was as soon as possible for him to ship

A nose piece isn't that hard to paint at the same time as the ski, but painting it afterwards does take time for setup, paint and finish. Just like any other shop, minimum of one hour charge each time. That means second time in would have been $45 labor plus shop supplies.
ASAP would have been Tuesday, not tommorrow.

whats madness is you refuse to acknowledge your own mistake.

I definitely agree Seeg made the mistake of sending an echeck and expecting IDOK to send it before the funds cleared. I am in total agreeance with IDOK. I would have not sent it either without the funds clearing first.

Now looking at the this situation from a completely neutral standpoint I do see where Seeg is coming from. If he made it clear to IDOK that he needed the nosepiece shipped out the next day so that he could have it painted then when IDOK realized Seeg sent the wrong payment maybe IDOK should have PM'd Seeg saying that he sent the wrong type of payment and that he would not be able to ship it out the next day because he needed to wait for the money to clear.

It sounds like no one person was at fault and there was just a breakdown in communication.

I have no problem admiting mistakes. I did not realize when I made the payment that they were going to do some crazy eCheck BS, as I had no option to select diferently. My credit is more than just good, with over $3000 in the account at the time. I have emailed Paypal to get a better explanation as to why. Look at my Ebay feedback, you'll notice alot of people replying with "Super fast payment". I should have known something was up when I got the email from Paypal stating the funds being deposited into IDOK's account a few days ago. Mistake on my part for not following through.

Now, did IDOK make a mistake knowing I needed the part soon, deciding to wait on shipping and not telling me?
Let's say it was shipped on Tuesday, or even yesterday, I still shoulld have gotten it on time with USPS priority. If it ships tommorrow, I would have gotten it Monday or Tuesday. Again, it will be done by then.
I was told by IDOK that it will take him 3-5 business days to submit a refund, my guess is because just to burn me, as with the Neg feedback post.

Let me throw this out there, I have been burned both on paypal and private transactions, and from now on I either have to feel like I know the person, or need someone I know who knows them give me the green light. Sure, there will always be a bit of risk when buying and selling on a forum, but I have learned the hard way that "caution rules". I can say that Idok has been here a long time, and wouldn't be here if he was out to screw peeps, and I have not seen posts for Seeg. That does not mean he is not legit, it just means in similar circumstance I would probably do the same and wait for it to clear.

Seeg, why not get the ski painted w/o the nose piece & keep some paint left over. Then take just the nose pice back to the painter to do when you get it. He should have removed the nose & painted the ski & the nose seperatly anyway. So this would still work out ok.....

I think Idok could have let you know it would not ship right away since he ended up getting an echeck. But at the same time, you could have said 'this is just an echeck, can you still mail it tomorrow?'. Since you've paid using echecks before, you must have ran into it a seller or 2 waiting for it to clear before shipping....

Hey everyone makes mistakes Idok? Seeg?. Seeg you seem like a good guy fairly new to the forum. There was miscomunication which unfortunatly happened. Seeing how this thread is turning out (civilized) I dont think anyone here will hold a negative feeling toward either parties in the end and everyone will have learned a little bit.

I do have on question though. Seeg what nose piece did you use when the ski was painted if you needed one?

I see IDOK's issue here completeley, but I would have PM's SEEG and told him there would be a delay in shpmnt. of the part due to the echeck thing. I think comunication is key in these deals.

they do that when you are unverified and dont have enough funds in your paypal account to cover the transaction




when you do a REFUND,the money is returned the same way it was received

I found out why I had no option for Instant payment versus eCheck, my CC on file had an expired expiration date! :banghead:
My checking account was on file also, so they electronically swoop the funds out. When there is just a checking account, default is eCheck.


Oh, the drama................
