I had to remove mine from my (new to me) x2 to glass the foot wells. It was already broken in 3 places but came up easy. I put it back on with some black RTV. I did find a piece of the inside HIN in the bottom of the bilge. Anyone know where the inside HIN is located on a 95 X2?
I'd be very interested in lazer etched stainless HIN tags if someone were to make them.
Also, in WA, if you buy something that needs to be licensed and don't have the title available, it's actually pretty easy. Take HIN/VIN to local DMV and they check it. Give you a piece of paper (public disclosure form) to send to the WA DMV. They send you all the info on the registered owner. You get another piece of paper from the local DMV filled out to send registered mail to the owner. If they sign, notarize and return, you have yourself a title. If you get no response or it comes back undeliverable, you get it registered to you, but no title for 3 years. It can be sold and everything just like if you had a title. I'm going through this now on an empty hull I bought. Waiting on owners.
