Grew up on the Mississippi River every weekend at sandbars. I remember seeing stand ups when I was really young(early 90s)

Fast forward to Senior Year of high school(2003). I'm on a drive with my buddy and we see a lime green JS440 sitting on the side of the road for sale. It got my checking eBay for Stand Ups......

One year later, my freshmen year in college(2004), I won an eBay bid for a modded 1985 JS550 with a fresh bore. I drove the family Suburban to Moorhead, MN and back to Mankato, MN ( 7 hour drive...)

The first 50 degree day that week I took it out in a rain storm with no wetsuit, first turn FACE PLANT!!! I was hooked(what a challenge!!) After a few minutes of freezing my arse, I could rail a turn and pin it.

Parted it out in 2008 to pay for college. Got a 2011 SXR in 2012, the rest in on the forums.

I used to sell poopty electronics for some guy I had met in my apartment complex. We sold the tablets and crap on Craigslist. During Christmas I made a poop load of money and this new kid happened to move in as a roommate for the guy I was selling electronics for, which ended up being the first time I saw a standup since I was like 4 years old. His ski never even ran and he let it rot in this backyard forever, I wanted it super bad and he was trying to sell it to me for way too much, so I didn't buy the piece of crap.

Picked up a 650sx needing to be put together that came on a shore lander double trailer, paid $275. Sold the trailer for $500 less than a week later and gave a guy a deposit on a squarenose he was selling for $1000 in California and I lived in Phoenix Arizona. I didn't care about the 650sx after that so I sold all the parts and hull for $300 and basically just paid the other $200 to pay off the superjet and get the title. At that point I wanted to know what ski I had rode with my dad and uncle as a little kid, so I called my uncle and he told me he had 2 94 square noses which he had sold in 96 and bought a 95 fx1 and 96 round nose off a Yamaha dealership.

After he said that I hadn't a clue what a Fx1 was and haven't even gotten to ride my square yet or a standup at all. Got my truck fixed right when summer started and spent an entire day getting beat by the ski, couldn't even stand the first day. Second day I relaxed and it was history, after I could turn and ride around without falling I was stoked. Rode every chance I could and bugged every standup I saw at the lake to hit me up to go ride. Met a ton of people and in AZ we ride with the Phoenix Jet Sports group, and I work at a Jetski shop now after about 3 seasons of riding. The shop is Jet Action Rentals in Tempe.

Now I currently have a Yamaha Fx1, the one my uncle gave me. As well as a 01 RN I bought as a hull and built with a 760. Cost me less than $2200 total to build the RN including hull purchase, and the fx1 I received as a bare hull with blown motor is my baby, built 701 61x/61x single 44 old twist head and a b pipe (fx1 head chamber) with a superjet chamber (it barely fits in there) and I can't get enough of the standup so still. I enjoy working on them just as much as riding so I'm always trying to build something new. I have a few different spare motor setups I've done as well.
