Why couldnt it be done in a weekend, if dealing with both a scupper and exhaust I could see a lil more labor, dont ya just cut to length either angle down or straight, rough up and either add a piece of glass cut to side or just lay it on and over the edges, sand and finish right?

To do it right, it takes a little longer I say.
Doing it right likely includes:
Glassing from inside and outside
Relocating the rear ride plate mounts, if you're using a Roundnose hull.
Making it look nice.

And don't forget that you're probably defoaming at the same time. At the very least, you'll want to defoam enough to get the exhaust tube out.
To put that back in right, it ought to be sealed with 5200, and that takes a bit to cure.

So sure, you can hack it out in an evening. Good luck with that. :cool2:

And btw....my bitching in no way implies that I am doing my hull right, or that it looks nice.

I'd do it to a squarenose and make a topdeck conversion before I cut apart a Wammer hull. Will probably be lighter than the wammer when its done too, and you can make it as strong if you wish.

A ton more work than shortening the wammer though....

I don't know about that...:dunno:

I don't know either. Whats a standard Wammer weigh? 80lbs? Didn't geeks XFT square go 88lbs?

I guess it would be more.

Tough call a Wammer hull is sweet, I wouldn't want to chop it than have it ride all weird. It probably likes to stand as it is.

The wammer hulls that Patrick (X-metal) had weighed in between 90-95 lbs. My 88 lb hull has a 12 lb top deck. All the rest of the weight comes from the SMC bottom (which weighed 58 lbs), and the foam (4lb foam x 3-1/2 cubic feet)

Right on. So you could build a conversion square to weigh less than a Wammer, plus you could shorten it at the same time.

Its also cheaper than buying a Wammer, but it is a hell of a lot of work and very time consuming.

I don't believe it's possible without removing the exhaust tube.
