Surfriding Should I jump on this 4x4 van?

Thanks JD, its your fault im even looking at these, I would like a chevy or gm, or a 7.3 diesel ford, but this is whats for sale, it would be a downgrade, but getting rid of a new truck payment wouldn't hurt, maybe I should broaden my search.

I didn't look at the add but those vans are no joke!! I'd take one In a heartbeat with a 7.3 6 speed.

Edit: looked at the add and for 10,000 that sucker is a steal! Nothing wrong with that engine I run one now. Lots of torque and power.

$10k for a 20 year old Quigley?
scratch that, a van with a "Quigley after-market lift kit installed", not a Quigley conversion?
Personally I am not a Ford man . . . . .

I'm not a ford man either but look up new prices quigley 4wd 3/4 vans 10 is not a bad price. Not like it has 300,000 miles on it.

I've been looking for a nice 4x4 van for work. Perfect for hauling my tools, pulling a trailer, and it has to be good in the snow!

Noticed you didn't say anything about hauling skies.....lol.
I have always wanted a 4x4 van, that would be pimp !
My dogs would love it.

That's not the extended version. Still a nice looking van for its age. The 351 is a solid motor but very dated. If its your everyday vehicle your gas mileage is going to suffer. I would look for a Chevy/gmc AWD work van or find a quigley with at least the 5.4 v8 or v10 if you can't find the diesel.

Bob, you should know where this rig needs to go, I need a 4x4, and the trailer stuff is getting old, and when Ed can't ride, I'm screwed, I would rather get my own good setup, not rely on my ski sleeping on a trailer across town.

I saw two ford 4x4 quigley conversions today! After seeing the jersey guys' rigs the last few years I've really been wanting one. I rarely see them around here but I was surprised to see two today.

yup, i may look into a 4x4 township or road crew type van, and keep my new pickup, i like my new truck toooo much, but the van would make jersey trips so simple

And for anyone wondering about the older 5.8 fuel economy. I drive around. 75 miles a day. I own a few trucks. My 96 f 250 4wd with 5.8 and manual 5 speed cost me around 15 dollars a week less then my 2000 Sonoma 4.3 automatic 2wd. Doesn't sound right but its true! Back to back test the f250 wins everytime even if its minuscule.

Would be sweet to turn it into 15 passenger van size. Make little rv style

I've been dying to find one with a v10 in it. There are conversion kits for cummins engine. It'd be the ultimate beach cruiser. Ski in thd back, with a bed too. Can't believe you guys are as weird as me, I love these vans !!!!!

I just sold a 2wd cummins that would have been a perfect truck to steal from and make that van move and get MPG. Q Vans a sweet!!!but as stated hard to find.

Quigley's are awesome, and the black one looks pretty sweet. The trouble with Quigley's is that most people know what they're worth and have them priced appropriately. I always keep my eyes out for someone who doesn't realize what they have and has one for cheap, but haven't gotten anywhere with that one. I've got a buddy with one that was used as an electronics diagnostic van in some of the mines in northern MN. He got it dirt cheap because he works for a mine supplier and they were upgrading the fleet and getting rid of the old ones, and has nearly nothing for miles because they drove it around the mine. It's mid 90's, has dually's and a 460 and more of the camper style back (not quite box van though). It came with cabinets up and down both sides. He set it up for motorcycle racing as well as camping and it's pretty freaking cool...
