I voted YES. I feel we need to grow the sport & show others how to welcome change. Right now a big part of the industry is watching this site. We are the segment moving foward. If that momentum doesnt have the growth to move foward, we will get nowhere. I don't feel the need to worry about a bunch of sit-down guys asking dumb questions. They will quickly see the site is too hardcore for that. But the hard core runabout riders will actually make this place better. & possibly purchase a stand-up soon enough. PWCT has given us the golden oppertunity for growth. Personally I don't like to let oppertunities slip by.

If the runabout section is put into effect. I'm pretty sure I won't be looking at it since I don't own one, but I think it would be beneficial to those people that do to have a seperate FAQ section for all their minor problems. Being as our Tech FAQ has mostly standup related information.

Just my 2 cents.

Same here. The only thing I can think of is that the difference in weight/size between a standup and the average sitdown has grown. Nowadays, the normal sitdown is a 3-seater, and some of those are close to 1000 lbs where the average standup is either the same SJ or the slightly heavier/bigger SXR. Back in the 90's it was the Sea-doo XP that was only 400lbs or so, maybe 100lbs heavier than a standup.

There are more and more members over the years, and the "couchers" are growing more rapidly than the stand up riders (as members).
Maybe that puts some of us on the defensive?
I don't know. I think it's silly.

Greenhulk.net, Sea-doo.net, PWCForums, and the others already has the sit-down forums covered...... All the S/U riders had was PWCT and choose to create another option for themselves, giving us this site.

http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/ has some of the top technical guys there helping out and allow no BS on the boards that would of gone on over @ TUC. This is where the ‘gear’ head sit-down owners hang out as they are interested in performance and actual tech talk compared to waxing their skis and pics of their ski cleaned on the trailer or making a PWC site into a softcore porn site.

IMO, having multiple sites geared to the same demographic dilutes the information available, as it is not combined. If choices are already out there for the sit-down riders, does this site need to add another forum? I don’t see why it’s needed unless there is financial gain in doing so….. :sneaky: I would suggest picking one of the already existing sit-down forums and add the link to the bottom of the X’s site as we had with RR.

i rode mattg's RXP.. that thing is incredible. those skis are scary fast.

i wouldnt mind owning a gp1200 some day (well, with triples!). ive always liked the way they sound.

Thats what I'm saying. I would love a 99 GP1200 with triples. I don't care too much for the 00 and up, but the 97-99 are light and fun. I hear they are actually pretty good in the surf.

I see what you are saying, but I think you are missing the point we are after. Go back & re-read my post #76.
Yes , there are technical forums all over, but everyone gets bored & looks to change directions somewhat. That is the alternative we are offering.
A lot of runabout guys are looking for the transition outlet to move foward. they want to keep what they have & explore the posibility for something else. In this case a stand-up. We want to give them that oppertunity.
