SJ or SX-R

im looking into both of them but i cant choose i aoutomatically think of the sj because everyone likes em but ive heard good thicngs about the 800 but if you could shed some light about the goods and bads of these skis it would be apprecitated:ponder:

If you like carvin and racin and mild freeride,SXR thats my opinion. ITs a tuff choice,Id try to ride both first. Im sure there is some one on here close to you that will let you try thier ski out. If you where close to me you could ride mine, hell my poor ski was a whore this past weekend, she was ridin hard by many.

i have ridden an sxr a few times and its amazing!!! so much power with stock dual carbs and 800 ccs and it carves like a hot knife on butter you turn and it just digs it i really like them but ive never ridden a sj so i dont really know try to ride bouth like he said thats what i want to do

just buy a superjet... if u want to make it carve good u can do whatever u need to it.. but if not its sweet for freestyle. sxr great racer but IMO getting it to freestyle is way harder.... keep in mind i own a superjet

If you do a search, you will find this topic has been covered quite a bit.
I have owned both.
SXR is fun and easy to ride. It carves great. For a lake(play) boat I feel it's too heavy. I could hardly get mine out of the water jumping boat wakes.
Superjet isn't as stable and doesn't lean over and carve as well. However, if you like to push yourself and learn new things, you will be much happier on it.

This is a heavily SuperJet biased forum so you will probably get a lot of votes that direction. The SXR isn't a bad boat. Like others have said, it comes down to how you want to ride it.

The do not slide except when you do not want them to (on the race course). Personally, I like both, but the SXR is for racing or cruising up the lake, but that is it, to play, I use my SJ.

I used to think that the SJ wasn't a carver it would only slide but the stock 06 that I have been riding will carve great. You could ride that like a race ski with a bunch of low end punch. IMHO there is no comparison. The only people that own SXR's never rode a SJ.

Accully I owned a SXR first then bought a SJ. Both have their nitch in the standup crowd. The SXR must be a halfway decent hull since yamaha is coming out with a hull design very similar to it..
