hi all, as the title says i wanna fit a 144mm sj pump to an sx kwak hull, any ideas or threads on here, all help would be appreciated
Why would you do that? Are you placing a SJ engine in there too? It would make more sense to change the coupler than the whole pump cavity... It's definitely doable, just look up Conversion hulls over at pwctoday.com and they'll show you what's up...

thanks linden, should be a load more progress over the next week or two, will post more pics
Here's a side-by-side I wrote up of the SJ vs the X2. The X2 and the SX both use 140mm pumps. The 750sx has a larger pump intake than the 650sx/x2, so there are obviously some differences there I cannot help you with. You may be able to put a SJ pump in a SX hull w/o molding in the SJ pump cavity, but the X2 pump tunnel is 1/2" narrower than the SJ. Again, not sure on the 750 pump tunnel size.
how much weight was taken off by shortening the hull? could you attach a link to your build thread? Im interested because i want to do a 300sx build with a 144 pump but i cant justify buying a superjet for 2000+ and then cutting it up right away (especially since i ride a 650sx right now). So if you can fit a 144 into a 650 or 750 pump then i could just cut up a 650, which pop up for free sometimes.
