Anyone have pics of how they relocated battery box to run a sj tank? Or a different tank that works?
this is what I did to relocate mineView attachment 405307
It is just a b mod pipe. The bracket was for a dry pipe on a previous ski. I have since modified the front mounting lug so it is easier to get the tank in. I couldnt find a picture to show what I did . What I did was cut the lug off and epoxy in a lug as close to the hull as I could and I use a spacer the width of what I cut off. It makes it much easier to get the tank in and out. I will keep looking for a picture to post.Paul, what is that plate bolted to the top of the cylinder head? Also any special tricks getting the b-pipe to fit? Unless you are lucky and have the FX-1 b-pipe!
Here is the picture of the spacer I put in to make it easier to slide the tank back and make it easier to get in and out.View attachment 405395View attachment 405396
Thanks. I think I’m further back than you..using internal fillI have about a 1/4 inch clearance between the tank and the edge of the hull in front of the tank. I think the clearance depends on two things. How far you slide the fuel hose on the tank and on the filler neck as to where the final position of the tank sits in the hull. Here is a couple of pics of the gap I have and where it sits.View attachment 408643View attachment 408644View attachment 408645
Do you have a link for the spacer? I was wondering what I was going to do to keep my tank from rubbing.....Yes I am referring to the lug closest to the front corner of the tank.
Is it just a cylindrical rubber threaded insert that screws into the first mount?Yes I am referring to the lug closest to the front corner of the tank.
