Oic. Glad to hear he is using gel-coat. The few I've seen just had epoxy primer.
The carbon ones come with epoxy primer, hybrid layup is gelcoat. It's a matte look that you can shine up if you want with a buffer.

It's nice to have a shock pad that big and bulky for then you are tired and you can ride the ski around like a fixed steer
For sure. Plus Jeff includes it already cut at a perfect angle to rest on the hood.. It's convenient

Well, ill try and put my 30 min ride into words. This thing is super fun. It rides very very "light" for an 80lb hull. Its definitely a flatwater hull. Ill put it to the test once we get some waves though. I noticed while making setup wakes that it rides very flat. It almost "drifts" on top of that water like a circus. The more you lean, the more it hooks. Another point that i was impressed with is that while leaning forward its very comfortable. This is due to the wedges. It rides nose high when you want and rides flat as soon as you lean forward. It has a ton of "pop" off of a wave. I was completely shocked at how fast it came around on flips with my little engine.
One of my favorite things about the ski is how fast it turns. I made a setup wake to do a 180 and i was 3/4 of the way to a 360... So why not huck it harder and try for it! Next setup wake, BOOM, landed a 360.. This gave me enough confidence to try and flip it.
Overall, i could not be more happy with the power - weight - hull combo.
