SN Superjet fix and improve build

Probably the fact that you just jumped into his build thread and suggested he put a 760 R&D head on his motor. I don't think anybody knows where you're going with your comments.

@lcgordon keep up the build, I'm looking forward to seeing your progress.
Wtf how did that happen I don't know how it ended up on his post it's was supposed to be on what have you done to your ski lately post btw I wasn't suggesting nothing that's what I put on my ski no wonder why he was lost lol my bad Gordon

All good dude no worries at all!

Anyways got the sides done. Not the best but I’ll take it for first time foot hold turfing. Done a couple without holds. The underside of the hold really struggled to stick. May still have a small bubble but it will work I think.

Try heating it up a little with heat gun then put a balloon in there and blow it up to hold it

Good idea, i peeled it and reglued it about 5 times using a heat gun. I know if i cut a slit in it i would stay. I may try pulling it back one more time and reglue it and try the balloon trick.

From what i noticed the heat gun works really well but the turf return back to original shape and pulls off. I let the glue dry until it would not stick to my finger at all so i think it dried enough.

I also dont think it is going to effect much. if it becomes a problem down the road then i can cut a slit and stick it down. Would probably have to add a tiny sliver of turf which would make it ugly but what ever i guess.

What glue are you using

Got the turf done I’m pretty happy with it for my first time. I screwed up big time with a mental mistake and cut it straight back. Did not have enough turf to redo. So just had to add a patch.

So glad to be done with this. Time to get it all back together.

So pumped. Got it together and was able to sneak in a 30 min ride. Everything worked. I turned the high speed out an extra turn because I did not have time to tune so I did not blow it up. I’ll have to do a little testing.

Really really excited that was a lot of work.

Well had a bit of a problem. Drilled the holes for my drains in. The back and about a gallon of water came out. I was like crap I’m not tearing it apart to fix it. But a gallon in 30 min ride is bad. I went ahead and put the inserts in. I then blocked off one side and put the air compressor in the other. So much air came out of the stern eye. So I jammed a bunch of silicone up there and covered it in gorilla tape for now. Should keep 90% of the water out I hope. We will see I think worst case I could pull up the turf in the rear and try to glass the hole or something.

Anyways brought out my old stock 650 sn from back home this winter. I got it going today and me and my buddy are going to go ride both tomorrow. No more sharing will be so nice.

The Fiberglass Layers (Top and Bottom Hull) around the Aft Eye tend to separate with time.

I noticed this on mine before I Turfed, so I applied some Epoxy "Peanut Butter" around the Hole Inner Wall to seal the gaps, let it cure, sanded it smooth. Then turfed.

But generally, the Square Nose Tray Top and Bottom are full of cracks which allow leaks. So I put Duckbill Drains on mine to bilge the Tray water out while underway.

Thanks for the info. I’ve seen ppl use the Verdi plugs or whatever. Glad to hear I was not the only one. I figured it would not be perfect which is the reason for pink foam and drains. But I did not think that much. I’ll see if I can get it sealed. If not I’ll go with the different plugs like you.

Are those better than the ball drains like this? I have always wondered. The duckbills seem like you could break them off easy. Maybe it’s not a problem.

Haven't seen Duckbills come off. Had them on a 62 mph 951 SXR race ski and stayed put. But only really work when Ski is in motion. Will drain a little Water when on the Trailer and Stand.

So far so good on the Square Nose. But I'm only chasing Buoys.

The Versiplugs drain more Water and the Ski doesn't have to be moving. But the Check Ball can get stuck open allowing Water to go into the Bilge.

I think most of the Freestyle Guys use Ball Check Valves...
