I picked up an all aluminum Neo 6x12 v-nose trailer this past spring. I've been using it all summer and I'm really happy with it. I got a lot of ideas from other trailer threads on here so, I thought I'd post my build and maybe it would spark some ideas for someone else. My goal with this build was to keep everything light (use as much aluminum as possible), and versatile. The primary purpose was to haul skis but, I also want to use the trailer for other things such as hauling dirt bikes to the track and camping. With this in mind, everything had to be removable.

I ordered the trailer with upgraded rims and tires, dual roof vents, flow-thru venting and a sliding window. This is how it looked when I picked it up.





I started my build with flooring. I cut to size and glued down a mat designed for a garage floor. I felt this would handle the abuse.

Next I started on the walls. I picked up some 4x8 sheets designed for showers. This would allow the walls to be wiped down and prevent my kids from getting slivers when camping in it. The sheets were mounted using J and T moulds, stainless steel staples, and glue. After the walls were installed, E-track was then mounted to the walls.









Next, the bunks the skis would sit on. I made the bunks span the width of the trailer and clip into the e-track which makes it easy to remove when the trailer is being used for something else other than to hauling skis. Aluminum angle iron was machined to pocket 3" diameter aluminum tubes. The rack was then welded up. Carpet was added to the underside of the rack and to the top side of the tubes (protecting the flooring and skis).








On to the shelf... the shelf sits over the skis and is used for my ez-up tent, beach toys for the kids, chairs, etc.
When in camper mode the jetski bunks are removed and a mattress sits in its place. The shelf is then lowered and a mattress is placed on it. Sleeps 4 people. The shelf was made out of Bosch extruded aluminum which bolts together like Lego. Its light and extremely strong.

Time to test my measurements... they fit!

My plan is to outfit the shelf with an aluminum floor but, for now a wood one will have to do (Ill finish it in the fall). Added a couple more things to suit my needs, oil holder, helmet hook, gas can holder, and hanger rack. All of these were ordered from Pit Products and are really nice pieces.

E-track hooks were added under the shelf for beach stands and I came up with a temporary way of tying down the beach cart.

I have a few things left to do. I plan on mounting a tool box above the spare tire, LED light bar, a Bluetooth camera so I can see inside the trailer while I'm driving, UHMW bullet nosed ends to the bunk tubes, and tie-down anchors to the shelf. I'll keep updating as I add things.

I'm using a total of 3 ratchet tie-downs per ski. One across the rear, one pulling the nose of the ski forward and the other pulling backwards. The ratchet pulling backwards loops through a tie-down ring and hooks to the same tie-down loop as the ratchet pulling forward. This allows both ratchet mechanisms to be out in the open and provide ease of use.

I forgot to mention that I bolted the E-Track to floor for strength. Used stainless hardware pretty much everywhere.

Nice work! Very clean. I've been wanting to do something similar to this. I like the idea of having a bed inside instead of slumming it on the sand at night.
